  • Patent number: 5609693
Abstract: Methods useful for removing an acrylic-based polymeric material located on a surface, for example, a surface of a piece of process equipment. The method includes contacting an acrylic-based polymeric material located on the surface of a piece of equipment with a composition containing at least about 20% by weight of water and an organic component containing at least one alkylene oxide group, preferably a plurality of alkylene oxide groups, per molecule in an amount effective to solubilize at least a portion of the acrylic-based polymeric material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 17, 1993
Date of Patent: March 11, 1997
    Assignee: Dober Chemical Corp.
Inventors: John F. Dobrez, David A. Strawser
  • Patent number: 4980075
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a circulating coolant system filter which includes a filter medium and a space into which a supplemental coolant additive can be placed to provide at least one beneficial property to the circulating coolant, the improvement comprising: automatically introducing the supplemental coolant additive into the space in the form of a liquid-powdered solids slurry.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 13, 1989
Date of Patent: December 25, 1990

  • Patent number: 4357243
Abstract: A method for reclaiming an aqueous emulsion useful as a metal-working lubricant/coolant which is contaminated with particles of at least one metal comprises contacting the contaminated emulsion with at least one metal solubilizing agent at metal solubilizing conditions to solubilize at least a portion of the metal particles. The thus contacted emulsions have improved suitability as a metal-working lubricant/coolant relative to the contaminated emulsion.
