  • Patent number: 5605018
Abstract: A flexible end cap includes at least one flexible membrane, such as a rubber sheet, for covering the end of the roof rib, having a top peripheral portion and a bottom peripheral portion. At least one frame member is attached to at least a portion of the top peripheral portion of the flexible membrane for supporting the membrane in a sealing relationship with the roof rib. At least a portion of the bottom peripheral portion, such as the portion for covering a ridge profile, includes at least two sealing ribs wherein a cross-sectional height of one rib is larger than a cross-sectional height of the other rib. The sealing ribs with the larger cross-sectional height allow the end cap to accommodate varying designs of roof rib profiles formed by adjacent sheets of roof panels.

  • Patent number: 4139974
Abstract: The side-by-side panels of a standing T-rib roof can be provided in any necessary lengths due to a smooth telescopically interfitting arrangement lengthwise between adjacent panel sections. One end portion of each panel section is tapered without cutting or crimping the metal thereof and when slipped endwise into the untapered end portion of another panel section forms a smooth slip joint of uniform cross sectional dimensions in relation to the complete assembled panel. An improved clip for attaching roof panels to underlying purlins features a vertical standoff space between the clip attaching feet and lateral panel support branches thereabove so that a thermal insulation blanket can be placed in the stand-off space. This vertical stand-off space greatly decreases the thermal conductivity of the metal roof and, therefore, increases the thermal value.

  • Patent number: 4064819
Abstract: A self-propelled roof T-rib cap flange closing or seaming machine has a base with guidance means to travel along the top of the cap strip. Cap strip closing dies on opposite sides of the machine having crowned tops and angled flange engaging leading faces are oscillated vertically about their rearward ends by drive motor and eccentric cam means on the machine. The crowned tops of the dies react against the formed flanges of the cap strip to advance the machine longitudinally of the standing rib for progressively closing said flanges.
