Patents by Inventor John F. Heimovics, Jr.

John F. Heimovics, Jr. has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4606497
Abstract: A temperature compensator mounted on a gas pressure regulator having a spring loaded valve in which the amount of compression in the spring is changed by moving an adjusting member of the compensator in response to changes in temperature. The temperature compensator may include a piston and cylinder assembly containing a plug made of vulcanized polymer which contracts in response to a reduction in temperature. The piston is in engagement with the spring and is moved to change the amount of compression in the spring in response to the change in temperature.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 19, 1986
Assignee: The B. F. Goodrich Company

  • Patent number: 4513881
Abstract: A temperature compensator mounted on a gas pressure regulator having a spring loaded valve in which the amount of compression in the spring is changed by moving an adjusting member of the compensator in response to changes in temperature. The temperature compensator may include a piston and cylinder assembly containing a fluid which contracts in response to a reduction in temperature and expands in response to an increase in temperature. The piston is in engagement with the spring and is moved to change the amount of compression in the spring in response to the change in temperature.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4460343
Abstract: The container (12) has an inflation opening (46) which is closed by a valve (56) with seals (66) compressed by spring (90) pressure during the packing process. Air is removed from the container (12) for deflation by a vacuum pump (20) and excessive vacuum necessary for deflating the container (12) in a reasonable time but which is too high for the packing process and may damage the valve (56) or seals (66) is limited by a vacuum control unit (20) adjusted to maintain the vacuum below a predetermined vacuum and then admit atmospheric air over that level. The vacuum control unit (20) may have a screw adjustment (34) engageable with a spring (36) for increasing or decreasing pressure on an inlet valve member (32).

  • Patent number: 4368009
Abstract: An aspirator used to inflate flexible structures such as aircraft evacuation slides, rafts, or the like comprises a tubular housing an atmospheric air inlet at one end of the housing, a nozzle within the housing for introduction of high pressure gas downstream of said air inlet, flapper valve means closing the air inlet and operable to open when atmospheric air is induced through the inlet by operation of said nozzle, and means within the housing to operate a device to positively lock or unlock the flapper valve means when said nozzle is not operating or operating, respectively.
