  • Patent number: 8353493
Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.

  • Publication number: 20120253611
Abstract: A combine bin level monitor may include a yield monitor to determine how much grain has been added to the combine tank, a container weighing system (e.g. scales on a grain cart) that measures the amount of grain unloaded from the combine tank and wirelessly transfers the amount to the combine bin level monitoring system. The system further includes a software routine in the combine bin level monitoring system that calculates and displays the bin level by adding grain accumulated by the yield monitor and subtracting grain accumulated by the container weighing system from the last known amount of grain in the combine tank. The accumulated grain is the amount accumulated since the last time the amount of grain in the combine tank was known.

  • Patent number: 5425738
Abstract: An endoscopic insertion device for inserting an anastomosis ring having two unitary members in an anatomic tubular body member comprises an anastomosis ring adapter for mounting the unitary members in an engaging position, an inserter for inserting the ring adapter in the tubular body member, and an actuator for actuating the adapter to close the anastomosis ring. A method of using the endoscopic insertion device includes the steps of inserting the anastomosis ring in an engaged position into the tubular body member, securing opposite ends of the tubular body member to the engaged anastomosis ring, applying a biasing force to close the anastomosis ring, releasing the biasing force, and axially withdrawing the insertion device from the closed anastomosis ring.

  • Patent number: 4919649
Abstract: A fluid delivery system is provided with a disposable delivery set which includes an inlet tube, an outlet tube and a column tube connected to a syringe. A motor set is arranged to operate the syringe while sensing the level of fluid in the column tube, whereby the syringe may be reciprocated to provide incremental volumes of fluid to a patient.

  • Patent number: 4375629
Abstract: A fuse element is a ribbon of aluminum or aluminum alloy having a terminal at each end of the ribbon. Each terminal is made of copper sheet material having a portion that is tin plated. The tin plated portion is folded over the end of the ribbon to contact both sides and is welded to the ribbon to form a connection capable of carrying short circuit currents and able to withstand repeated temperature changes. Preferably the weld consists of three side-by-side spot welds extending on either side of the ribbon to the respective tin plated terminal portion.

  • Patent number: 4275373
Abstract: A combination fuse has a current limiting section and a low current expulsion section with the expulsion section within the high current section. This arrangement makes it possible to increase the length of the expulsion tube as compared to the prior art and provide greater arc cooling without increasing the overall length of the fuse. In addition the fuse arrangement places one fuse terminal between the ends of the fuse rather than at one end as in the prior art, thereby reducing the strain on the mounting means and the tendency to vibrate. The expulsion section includes an expulsion tube with a standard fuse link inside. The expulsion tube is mounted within the casing of the current limiting section to an end closure at one end of the casing. The expulsion tube projects through an end closure at the other end of the casing. A connector terminal is mounted to the casing adjacent the end from which the expulsion tube projects.

  • Patent number: 4253080
Abstract: A current limiting fuse has a helically coiled fuse element of ribbon-like material extending within a tubular casing between metallic end caps. The ribbon-like material is edge on to the axis of the helix for permitting a greater length of fuse element than if the ribbon-like material had its flat side towards the axis. In a preferred form, the ribbon-like material has ripples or indentations across it with the ripples having a greater displacement at the edge of the ribbon-like fuse element nearer the axis.

  • Patent number: 4235971
Abstract: An inoculator wherein a multiplicity of small volumes of an inoculum are picked up on pins depending from an inoculator head and deposited in separate areas according to a pattern, such as in the wells of a microtitration tray. The instrument includes a control circuit for automatic cycling, and a sterilization furnace is provided that may be included in the operational cycle.

  • Patent number: 4158188
Abstract: A high voltage combination fuse has a current limiting section which has a free standing, helical coil of fusible wire material. The support for the free standing coil comes only from the pulverulent arc quenching material which fills the fuse casing and surrounds the coil. The coil has a foot portion and a head portion of increased cross-section to avoid arcing in the immediate vicinity of the end caps. The foot and head portions are preferably formed by doubling back a length of wire at the respective end and wrapping the tip of the doubled back length around the wire.
