Patent number: 7150774Abstract: A replaceable, self-spacing, pleated, filter insert that can be easily installed in a reusable filter frame without the aid of a secondary spacing structure includes reversibly collapsible and expandable filter media including a plurality of pleats that expand uniformly when the filter is expanded. When the filter is expanded to the length of the filter frame, the filter is under tension and behaves like a spring, thereby allowing the length of the filter to be readily adjusted to match the length of the frame and allowing the pleats to be aligned with corresponding ribs provided in the frame.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2003Date of Patent: December 19, 2006Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: James O. Publication number: 20030149702Abstract: An operational data store consists of an insert table for storing new data and a history table, partitioned by range and further sub-partitioned, for storing historical data. Transfer logic periodically transfers new data from the insert table to the history table. The transfer logic includes a secondary table and fill logic for filling the secondary table with selected data from the insert table. Secondary transfer logic transfers the secondary table into the history table, such that the selected data is transferred into the history table. Indexing logic applies the history table indexing scheme to the secondary table. Table logic creates a new partition the history table, for swapping with the secondary table, by exchanging respective pointers. A query engine may apply a database query to both the history table and the insert table, so that all data is available. An aggregator accumulates new data into an aggregation buffer.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2002Publication date: August 7, 2003Applicant: Compaq Information Technologies Group, L.P.Inventors: Sally Elaine Saffer, Mario J. Patent number: 6024646Abstract: A swaged male element of a pipe connection of the type having a frusto-conical sealing surface adjacent to but separate from the load threads. The swaging is effected prior to final machining of the end of the pin and is followed by a cutting operation to remove surplus material from the interior surface of the pin. The swaging extends from the distal end of the pin proximally to include at least the distal end of the effective sealing surface, and preferably extends proximally to a point coinciding generally with the terminating proximal portion of the effective sealing area of the pin.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1997Date of Patent: February 15, 2000Assignee: IPSCO Enterprises Inc.Inventors: John F. Patent number: 4874399Abstract: A fibrous electret filter better sustains electret filtration enhancement upon exposure to aerosol oils when made of fibers containing polypropylene and at least one percent by weight of poly(4-methyl-1-pentene). Even better stability is attained when the poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) content of the electret filter is ten percent by weight of total polyolefin. When used as an air filter, such as in a respirator, the electret filter has surprisingly better filtration performance than does a comparable electret filter made of 100% polypropylene fibers. The electret filter can be made either of melt-blown microfibers or of fibers of fibrillated film.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1988Date of Patent: October 17, 1989Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: John F.
