    Abstract: A manufacturing process is disclosed for preparing 1,1-dichloro-1-fluorethane by the addition of hydrogen fluoride to 1,1-dichloroethylene in the presence of a hydrofluorination catalyst providing 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane in high yields and reduced 1,1-dichloroethylene content.Additionally, a process is disclosed for reducing the 1,1-dichloroethylene content of a mixture of 1,1-dichloroethylene and 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane.
