  • Patent number: 7862526
Abstract: A cervical traction assembly whereby the user can exert a variable load on the cervical spine and receive a sensory feedback when the traction is at or within range of a target load. The assembly includes a head harness wrapped around the forehead of the user that is attached to a traction bar connected to a load line assembly that passes through a direction reversal pulley and terminates with force straps actuated by the user's legs. The load line assembly includes a spring force scale that includes a control assembly that allows the user to set a target applied load and receive sensory feedback in the form of varying audible signals as the user applied load approaches, meets and exceeds a target load range.

  • Patent number: 7378609
Abstract: A metal dome switch assembly with a good snap ratio and having a desired click characteristic near to that of an isolated metal dome includes a carrier base layer and adhesive layer which have a plurality of holes bounded by annular sections which engage the lower outer surfaces of the domes and are larger than the keypad actuation posts, at positions corresponding to fixed contact points on a circuit board. The switch array is especially important in cell phone designs where the snap ratio, tactile feel, is desirable. The switch array can also incorporate an electroluminescent (EL) lamp while still improving the snap ratio.

  • Patent number: 6302727
Abstract: Multi-axis electrical connectors for use within electronic devices such as radiotelephones are provided that may reduce the risk of electrical circuit breaks caused by impacts and/or vibrations. Multi-axis electrical connectors are configured to electrically communicate with electronic modules via multi-axis electrical interfaces. Electrical contact between a first set of contacts and an electrical interface along a direction can be maintained when a force is applied along a transverse direction. Conversely, electrical contact between a second set of contacts and another portion of the electrical interface along another direction can be maintained when a force is applied along a transverse direction.

  • Patent number: 5324023
Abstract: A sheet material handling apparatus having a rotatable drum and clamps for holding the sheet material on the drum during high speed rotation. The clamps are arranged to rely on centrifugal force as the primary operational clamping force during the high speed rotation. One clamp is eccentrically mounted on a pivot axis with a greater mass on a segment of the clamp adapted to pivot away from the drum surface during high speed rotation. A second clamp is contacted by a slidable counterweight mounted on the drum opposite the central rotation axis of the drum from the second clamp such centrifugal force of the counterweight enhances clamping of the sheet material to the drum surface.
