  • Patent number: 6989207
Abstract: The invention provides apparatuses and associated methods of manufacture for fuel cell systems designed for modular application. As an example, a fuel cell system is provided that includes an enclosure housing a fuel cell stack, a power conditioning circuit, and a control circuit. The power conditioning circuit has a first input connector electrically coupled to the fuel cell stack. The power conditioning circuit is adapted to convert a direct current flow from the fuel cell stack to a conditioned alternating current flow having a predetermined voltage (e.g., 120 volts). The conditioned current flow is provided to an outlet connector of the power conditioning circuit located along a first portion of the enclosure. The power conditioning circuit further includes a second input connector located along a second portion of the enclosure. The second input connector is adapted to receive an external current flow.

  • Patent number: 4223203
Abstract: Heat and pressure fusing apparatus for fixing toner images to copy substrates comprising a first fusing system consisting of a pair of nip forming rolls, one of which is provided with a conformable outer surface and a second fusing system consisting of a pair of nip forming rolls, one of which has a rigid outer surface. Copy substrates are passed sequentially through the nips of the first and second fusing systems, in that order such that the toner images sequentially contact the conformable outer surface and then the rigid outer surface.

  • Patent number: 4021641
Abstract: Apparatus for heat fixing toner images electrostatically adhered to copy paper. The apparatus is characterized by the provision of a radiant energy source together with a parabolic reflector and lens structure for focusing the energy onto the toner images. The lens structure in the preferred embodiment comprises a Fresnel lens which is fabricated in the form of a belt entrained about the reflector and energy source which belt is adapted to be moved relative to the reflector and the heat source.

  • Patent number: 3953709
Abstract: Apparatus for heat fixing toner images electrostatically adhered to copy paper. The apparatus is characterized by the provision of plural radiant energy sources capable of fusing high density images without scorching light weight paper and fusing low density images without fusing background toner particles. The energy source for fusing low density images comprises a low mass resistance heating element which radiates energy at wavelengths suitable for absorption by the paper in order to fuse low density toner images.
