  • Publication number: 20140062775
Abstract: A tracking and mapping system for outdoor use includes a first GPS locator located either at a base station or on a hunting accessory such as an arrow. The system also includes a second GPS locator for identifying a user's location, and an electronic display unit for communicating with a global positioning satellite and displaying a map showing icons representing locations of the first and second GPS locators. The second OPS locator may be embedded in the electronic display unit, which may be a mobile wireless handheld device, a tablet or other portable computer having wireless connectivity. The electronic display unit maps the present location of each of the GPS locators in relation to a direction such as north, south, east or west. Optionally, separate GPS locators may be placed at a base station and in an arrow. A method of using the tracking and mapping system is also described.

  • Patent number: 7594514
Abstract: A concealment system includes one or more independently positionable masking panels. Each of the panels is independently supported by a hub and strut frame, and employs various interchangeable camouflage sheet materials. A polygonal perimeter strip has strut-engaging pockets thereon with a pocket located at each corner of the panel, and structure for mounting a masking panel thereon. Dual ball mount are attached to a platform and to a base portion of the frame hub, respectively. A positioning arm, having independently adjustable socket clamps, extends between the two ball mount to support the panel frame. An improved hub design eliminates guide channels therein, and employs cabling to attach the struts. The positioning arm has a single span with socket clamps permanently attached to each end so that each clamp can be independently adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20080050482
Abstract: A method and kit is usable to marinate and tenderize food in a reduced-pressure environment. The kit includes a foraminous shell in which the food is placed, and a sealable bag in which the food, shell and marinade are placed. A vacuum pump and bag sealer are then used to create and maintain a reduced-pressure environment, creating voids within the food. While the reduced-pressure environment is maintained within the bag during a soak period, the user may vibrate, rotate, refrigerate, shake, or tumble the bag with the food and shell therein. During soaking and upon pressure equalization when the bag is opened, the marinade is drawn into the voids, thereby reducing the amount of time needed to marinate and tenderize foods. After removing the food from the shell and bag, the food may be stored, cooked or served. The foraminous shell is durable, washable, and re-usable.
