  • Patent number: 10711547
Abstract: An electric driven hydraulic fracking system is disclosed. A pump configuration includes the single VFD, the single shaft electric motor, and the single hydraulic pump mounted on the single pump trailer. A controller associated with the single VFD and is mounted on the single pump trailer. The controller monitors operation parameters associated with an operation of the electric driven hydraulic fracking system as each component of the electric driven hydraulic fracking system operates to determine whether the operation parameters deviate beyond a corresponding operation parameter threshold. Each of the operation parameters provides an indicator as to an operation status of a corresponding component of the electric driven hydraulic fracking system. The controller initiates corrected actions when each operation parameter deviates beyond the corresponding operation threshold.

  • Patent number: 10676022
Abstract: An example system includes a vehicle, a light projector connected to the vehicle, and a control system. The control system is configured to determine a planned operating region for the vehicle within an environment. The control system is also configured to determine that the planned operating region is within a threshold distance of an object within the environment and, in response, determine a caution region to illuminate with the light projector near the object. The control system is further configured to cause the light projector to project an indication of the caution region near the object. The projected indication remains fixed in relation to the object as the vehicle moves toward the planned operating region.

  • Publication number: 20200140732
Abstract: Ooids, microabrasive compositions containing ooids and methods of making microabrasive compositions containing ooids are described. Generally, ooids represent small particles, which are selectable for size, size distribution, and other characteristics and can be used as a microabrasive particle. Ooids generally show a high level of symmetry, sphericity, roundness and a low aspect ratio. As described here, these characteristics generally yield a predictable and highly effective abrasive.

  • Patent number: 10627191
Abstract: An accessory mounting device to pivotably mount an accessory to a weapon such as a firearm provides recoil dampening and generally may also include an accessory mount, a weapon attachment base, an arbor, and a detent mechanism. Advantageously, to flip or rotate the accessory mount through about 90 degrees between a first position above the base and a second position along a side of the base requires only grasping the accessory mount and rotating it from either of the positions through 90 degrees to the other position. No separate manual action to disengage any type of locking device is required, nor is any longitudinal or lateral translation of the mount involved. The function of providing stabilized, consistent location in each of the two positions, resistance to movement from each position, and manual movement of the mount that overcomes the resistance and rotates between the positions is provided by the detent mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10610960
Abstract: Pin tool assemblies for friction stir welding and apparatus and methods that include the pin tool assemblies. The pin tool assemblies include an outer member, an inner member, and a stop. The outer member includes an inner surface that defines an elongate internal cavity and an external shoulder that includes an opening to the elongate internal cavity. The inner member includes a welding end, extends at least partially within the elongate internal cavity, and projects from the opening such that the welding end is external the elongate internal cavity. The pin tool assembly is configured to permit motion of the inner member relative to the outer member. The stop defines a plurality of stop configurations. Each of the stop configurations restricts motion of the inner member relative to the outer member in a stop direction to define a corresponding stop distance between the welding end and the external shoulder.

  • Publication number: 20200096289
Abstract: A firearm carrier that is design and configured to hold a firearm. In one embodiment, the firearm is a pump-action (or slide-action) firearm, such as a scattergun. The firearm can have a rear portion with a pistol grip, and a forward portion with a barrel and a pump-action (or slide-action) receiver. The firearm carrier can be secured to a user's waist and leg, and then the firearm can be removably secured to the firearm carrier. Advantageously, the firearm carrier is configured to receive a portion of the barrel of the firearm and can thus be secured to the firearm carrier. The firearm can also be rapidly removed from the firearm carrier should the user desire to remove the firearm from the firearm carrier.

  • Patent number: 10592718
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a biometric sensing device that combines sensing with an actuator for two way communication between a finger on a surface and the device. The sensor can also function as an actuator. A finger can be authenticated based on an image of the finger generated by the sensor and also based on a response to energy delivered to the finger by the actuator. Two way communication can provide more robust authentication than fingerprint sensing alone.

  • Patent number: 10576597
Abstract: A tapered tool holder fixture for installing a retention knob into a tool holder and to determine whether the retention knob has produced distortions in a tool holder surface. A support stand supports a test gauge assembly that includes a mounting ring to which a tool holder is clamped, a gauge portion for receiving a tool holder surface and a camming ring for moving the gauge portion into and out of engagement with the tool holder surface. The mounting ring, camming ring and gauge portion are held together by bolts which allow the relative movement between the gauge portion and a tool holder held by the mounting ring and allow relative rotation between the camming and mounting rings whereby a rotatable detent arrangement moves the gauge portion towards and away from the tool holder. An indicator monitors the position of the gauge portion in order to detect distortions.

  • Patent number: 10558343
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for interaction plane rotation for manipulation of three-dimensional objects. A three-dimensional object can be displayed as a two-dimensional representation of the object, represented on an interaction plane and intersected by an object view vector that represents a point of view of the object through a viewing plane. An angle between the object view vector and the interaction plane is calculated and compared to a threshold value. A determination is made that the calculated angle is less than the threshold value, and a rotation magnitude that defines an amount of rotation of the interaction plane relative to a constant vector is calculated. The interaction plane is rotated relative to the constant vector in a rotation direction by the rotation magnitude. The rotated interaction plane can then be used to determine an intended relative movement between the object view vector and the three-dimensional object.
