  • Publication number: 20080082573
Abstract: A dynamic data-modeling system and a content management framework combined into a high-level application development framework is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system for application development, comprises a data-modeling framework configured to enable a user to define a logical data model. The data-modeling framework dynamically translates the logical data model into a corresponding physical data model. The changes to the logical data model are automatically adjusted in the physical data model accordingly. A content management framework is coupled to the data-modeling framework. The content management framework is configured to provide tools to enable the user to manage content associated with the physical data model based on the logical data model.

  • Publication number: 20060049552
Abstract: A method of joining two components utilizes a fibrous preform at the joint. The preform has two lateral portions and a longitudinally extending flow path. The preform is sandwiched between the two components and enclosed within a vacuum bag. Resin is introduced at an inlet of the flowpath while a vacuum pump creates a suction at an outlet end and along the lateral side edges. The flow path has greater permeability than the remaining portions of the preform, causing the resin to flow to the outlet end. When the resin reaches the outlet end, the suction at the outlet end is reduced, but the suction at the lateral edges remains without reduction to cause the resin to flow laterally into the preform.

  • Publication number: 20050061470
Abstract: A method for casting metal strip by controlling the distance between the confining side plates confining the casting pool and the outer nozzle ends of discrete nozzle pieces of the delivery nozzle delivering the molten melt. The nozzle pieces defining the outer nozzle ends may be moved and control separately from the position of the confining plates, or with the position of the confining plates, by a nozzle delivery drive. The distance between the outer nozzle ends and the confining plates may be set before casting and maintained during casting with wear and thermal expansion of the confining plates, nozzle pieces, or both, or varied during the casting operation, to inhibit the formation of skulls in the casting pool and the formation of “snake eggs” in the cast strip.

  • Publication number: 20050040553
Abstract: A system for distributing a substance includes a chamber configured to accommodate a mold surface and an inlet port in the chamber. The substance is introduced into the chamber through the inlet port. Flexible tubing is coupled between the inlet port and a reservoir containing the substance. A pump is used to compress a portion of the flexible tubing to move the substance through the tubing and inject the substance into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6040397
Abstract: A single component, extremely low viscosity, pre-catalyzed high functionality diepoxide and epoxy resin system has been developed. This resin system has good thermal stability, an extended work life and is capable of being refrigerated to -18 C. and stored for extended periods of time with little or no change in physical or mechanical properties. The resin system has direct applications in a number of industries including, but not limited to, the aircraft and spacecraft industries. The resin system is a mixture of specific epoxy resins and curing agents that when combined form an extremely low viscosity resinous system that may be readily cured at a temperature as low as 52 degrees C. into novel thermoset materials prepared therefrom, which are characterized by superior strength properties and methods for preparing the same.
