  • Publication number: 20170253356
Abstract: Self-heating containers comprise a reaction chamber and a heating chamber. The heating chamber is sized to contain a substance to be heated. The reaction chamber contains reactants which, when contacted, exothermically react. The reaction chamber is divided into a first compartment and a second compartment with a barrier therebetween. The barrier comprises a first barrier portion and a second barrier portion. The first barrier portion is attached to a reaction chamber wall and has an opening sized to allow reactants to flow through from one compartment to the other. The second barrier portion is attached to the first barrier portion to close the opening. The barrier can be opened by moving an actuator into engagement with the second barrier portion to dislodge the second barrier portion from the first barrier portion and thereby open the barrier. In certain embodiments, the heating chamber can be a can with prepackaged comestible substance therein.

  • Publication number: 20160212033
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for initiation, use, access, and control of functionality of a network. In one aspect, the systems and methods can be utilized to generate information defining signaling or control performance and operational characteristics associated with the functionality in a variety of network environments. In another aspect, based on such information, adaptive signaling can be utilized to monitor, analyze and detect specific signaling signatures associated with the functionality. Managing signaling or control messages in response to information collected by monitoring and analyzing the adaptive signaling permits originating or requesting the functionality without conventional operation of a network component.

  • Patent number: 9334028
Abstract: An apparatus for sealing a hole in a wall (4), the wall in use dividing a region of relative high pressure from a region of relative low pressure, the apparatus comprising an elongate stem (2) connected at one end to a sealing member (3) which extends substantially radially from the major axis of said stem in an extended state such that, in use, said relative high pressure acts to seal the sealing member in the extended state against the wall, wherein said sealing member is resiliently deformable from said extended state into a collapsed state in which the sealing member is folded towards the stem, and into an everted state in which the sealing means is folded away from the stem. Said sealing member may when in its extended state form a dome shape which acts to maintain an air gap around the hole.
