  • Publication number: 20220186569
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to preventing wear to a nominal thickness of a wall of a drill pipe during a downhole operation. A drill pipe may include a first tool joint; a second tool joint; and a tubular section between the first tool joint and the second tool joint, wherein the tubular section comprises a wall with an overall thickness comprising a nominal thickness and a secondary thickness, wherein the secondary thickness is outer to the nominal thickness and is configured to abrade against a wall of the wellbore, thereby reducing the secondary thickness and maintaining the nominal thickness, wherein an ID of each tool joint is less than an ID of the tubular section to accommodate for threaded connectors.

  • Patent number: 11047180
Abstract: A hole cleaning joint for a drill string is deployed into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The hole cleaning joint includes a tubular body connectable to the drill string and a hole cleaning section positionable about the tubular body. The hole cleaning section has an outer surface engageable with a wall of the well bore. The outer surface has spiral grooves extending therein defining blades therebetween, and an uphole end and a downhole end with a spiral cavity therebetween. The spiral cavity has a width that decreases towards the uphole end of the spiral cavity to define a tapered flow channel to receive cuttings therethrough whereby uphole movement of cuttings is facilitated during drilling.

  • Publication number: 20110146762
Abstract: The present invention provides a high performance backsheet (alternatively referred to backing sheet) for photovoltaic applications and method for manufacture of the same. The high performance backsheet includes a compounded thermoplastic polyolefin or compounded ethylene vinyl acetate (“EVA”). The compounded thermoplastic polyolefin or EVA may be used by itself as one layer, or incorporated into a layer, or as a layer in multilayer laminate. The compounded thermoplastic polyolefin or EVA is useful in eliminating the necessity of using polyester in the backing sheet.

  • Patent number: 4248634
Abstract: Sodium azide is used as a preservative or bacteriostatic agent of various solutions such as hypertonic phosphate solution, cleaning solutions used in electronic counting equipment, Sorensen's phosphate buffers, lytic agents E and F and the like. Unfortunately, sodium azide, when combined with lead or copper in sink plumbing can produce explosive substances and also is capable of generating toxic gases. By using sodium dehydroacetate with or without sodium borate decahydrate and/or disodium edetate, the disadvantages are removed and at the same time the efficiency of the various solutions is not affected adversely.
