  • Publication number: 20070091646
Abstract: A molded lamp socket. The molded lamp socket includes a lamp base body defining a socket cavity with an opening for receiving a lamp bulb. The molded lamp socket also includes a lead extending from a first contact portion disposed in the socket cavity to a second contact portion spaced from the socket cavity. The molded lamp socket also includes a mounting body defining a plug cavity encircling the second contact portion. The mounting body is overmolded with respect to the lamp base body and less than all of the lead, the second contact portion being exposed. The lamp base body is formed from a first plastic with a first level of resistance to out-gassing and the mounting body is formed from a second plastic with a second level of resistance to out-gassing less than the first level of out-gassing.

  • Publication number: 20050181635
Abstract: A wiring junction block, e.g. for taillamp pigtails in a vehicle lighting system. The wiring junction block includes a body having an input end including a first set of electrical terminals for receiving electrical power from a vehicle wiring harness. The body also has an output end including a second set of electrical terminals for supplying the received electrical power to one or more vehicle lamps. The second set of terminals includes at least one group of two or more terminals that are electrically shorted to each other. The number of terminals in the first set is less than the number of terminals in the second set. A mounting feature is located on the body and is adapted to enable mounting of the body to a vehicle support structure, e.g. apertured panel. The input and output terminals may be electrically connected by stamped circuit traces or a printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6843217
Abstract: An independent electrical module 26 distributes an electrical signal to the terminals 24 of a fuel injector device in an engine. The module 26 comprises a self-supporting plastic lead frame 28 with copper ribbons 30 disposed on the plastic frame 28. Pluralities of terminal connectors 32 are separate from and movable relative to the frame 28 for being connected to the terminals 24. The ribbons 30 continue in a free and self-sustaining support portions 31 between the frame 28 and the terminal connectors 32 and are bendable for allowing movement of the connectors 32 relative to the frame 28. Each of the connectors 32 includes a polymeric body defining a pair of the sockets 36 with an electrical contact 38 in each of the sockets 36 and a pair of the bendable support portions 31 paired with the contacts 38 in each connector 32.
