    Abstract: The present technology is generally directed to systems and methods for removing mercury from emissions. More specifically, some embodiments are directed to systems and methods for removing mercury from exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurization system. In one embodiment, a method of removing mercury from exhaust gas in a flue gas desulfurization system includes inletting the gas into a housing and conditioning an additive. In some embodiments, conditioning the additive comprises hydrating powder-activated carbon. The method further includes introducing the conditioned additive into the housing and capturing mercury from the gas.

    Abstract: A coke oven can include an oven body, a foundation, and a plurality of beams separating the oven body from the foundation. A buckstay applies force to the oven body to maintain compression on the oven body during thermal cycling of the coke oven. The coke oven further comprises a spring-loaded compression device, which can include a restraining device, an anchor coupled to the restraining device, and a spring coupled to the restraining device. The anchor can be attached to one or more of the beams, the foundation of the oven, or to a similar compression device on an opposite side of the oven. The spring applies force between the restraining device and the one or more beams or foundation to compress the buckstay against the oven. The force applied by the spring can maintain structural stability of the coke oven over a plurality of thermal cycles.

The testing system may then compare the results of processing one or more particular test scenarios by a modified version of the data processing system against the results of processing the same scenario(s) by the version of the data processing system prior to being modified to determine whether or not there are defects in the modified version.     Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to database query optimizers. In some embodiments, a query parser of a database system receives a query requesting data from a multi-tenant database. The query includes a first constraint that restricts a query optimizer's selection of a set of execution plans available to implement the query. The database system determines whether an override has been specified for a particular tenant associated with the received query, the override indicating that the first constraint is to be replaced with a second constraint for the particular tenant. In response to determining that the override has been specified for the particular tenant, the database system replaces the first constraint in the query with the second constraint and provides the query with the second constraint to the query optimizer for selection of an execution plan in accordance with the second constraint.

    Abstract: Systems and techniques that facilitate automated localization of large vessel occlusions are provided. In various embodiments, an input component can receive computed tomography angiogram (CTA) images of a patient's brain. In various embodiments, a localization component can determine, via a machine learning algorithm, a location of a large vessel occlusion (LVO) in the patient's brain based on the CTA images. In various instances, the location of the LVO can comprise a laterality and an occlusion site. In various aspects, the laterality can indicate a right side or a left side of the patient's brain, and the occlusion site can indicate an internal carotid artery (ICA), an M1 segment of a middle cerebral artery (MCA) or an M2 segment of an MCA. In various cases, a visualization component can generate and display to a user a three-dimensional maximum intensity projection (MIP) reconstruction of the patient's brain based on the CTA images to facilitate visual verification of the LVO by the user.

    Abstract: The present technology is generally directed to methods of increasing coal processing rates for coke ovens. In various embodiments, the present technology is applied to methods of coking relatively small coal charges over relatively short time periods, resulting in an increase in coal processing rate. In some embodiments, a coal charging system includes a charging head having opposing wings that extend outwardly and forwardly from the charging head, leaving an open pathway through which coal may be directed toward side edges of the coal bed. In other embodiments, an extrusion plate is positioned on a rearward face of the charging head and oriented to engage and compress coal as the coal is charged along a length of the coking oven. In other embodiments, a false door system includes a false door that is vertically oriented to maximize an amount of coal being charged into the oven.
