Abstract: A board with preformed seals. In an exemplary embodiment, a sealing material is applied to at least one edge of a board to form a preformed seal on that edge. The board is configured such that when the board is attached to a frame adjacent to a another board, at least a portion of the sealing material applied to the edge of the board seals against at least a portion of an edge another board. In one exemplary embodiment, the boards are configured to seal against edges of substantially identical boards. A plurality of the sheathing boards may be installed on a building frame to form a sheathing system that provides a moisture and/or gas barrier between and interior and exterior of a building.

Abstract: A message system permits a commercial subscriber to create and store a message accessible by a consumer having the system application installed on his personal communication device for machine readable redemption at a point-of-sale or other redemption center. The system logs the redemption and activates rebates or payments from the commercial subscriber to the point-of-sale or other redemption center, in accordance with any agreement which may exist between the redemption center and the commercial subscriber.

Abstract: A scent-releasing mechanism that is usable with an existing air moving device. The scent-releasing mechanism includes a chamber configured to enclose a scent source such as a scent cartridge, scent pad or the like, an air inlet, and an air outlet to release scent into a stream of air moved by the air moving device, so that the scent is dispersed throughout the room. At least one of the air inlet or air outlet is an adjustable port. The adjustable port may be adjusted to control the amount of scent released through the air outlet.

Abstract: Security is provided in a wireless communication system in a moving vehicle, e.g. an aircraft, by requiring user input of one or more security codes for validation before the system permits communication. One code, a security access code (SAC), corresponds to the vehicle travel segment (e.g. flight) and is given to the passenger(s) in transit, e.g. after the aircraft reaches a particular altitude. The second type of possible code, a personal identification number (PIN), is given to the passenger after baggage check-in. The PIN code would be correlated to the passenger and/or seat assignment. The use of either or both codes helps prohibit connectivity for mobile phone handsets or other wireless devices stored in the cargo bay or in other baggage. PIN use enables associated data systems to report the seat number or location of all parties engaging in wireless communications within the vehicle.

Abstract: The whip stop is made of a flexible, rust resistant galvanized sheet metal, that is preformed/bent to its permanent shape, which is a rectangular shape with four sides and a small flap which overlaps one of the sides, but is not connected to it, allowing whip stop to be flexed open and placed around a 4?×4? wooden post, then to, on its own, snap shut protecting the post from weedeater damage. There is no folding, or unfolding needed. The user simply flexes open whip stop and whip stop snaps back to its original shape, no screws or nails are needed to hold whip stop in place.

Abstract: A global push-to-communicate system supports communication between any two or more devices with one another by a simple push-to-activate operation. Users create and send text, voice and graphic messages to other users on the system anywhere in the world where data transmission via the Internet or other networks is available. The application may be installed on any digital communication device and permits multiple format messages to be reconfigured into a data stream so that the multiple components may be sent in a single message packet. This includes a cell phone, personal digital assistant (pda), computer, television, radio, interactive displays and the like. All messages are digitized and sent over the network. Voice, text, video, still images, graphics, gps data, mapping and other message components, in any combination, may be sent in a single transmission.

Abstract: A dehumidifier has a main body and a water collection container that is removably and fluidly coupled to the main body. The main body includes a dehumidifier device to dehumidify air surrounding or fed into the dehumidifier. The water collection container couples to the main body to receive water output by the dehumidifier device. The main body and the water collection container are configured so that the water collection container is disposed closer to a top of the dehumidifier than to a bottom of the dehumidifier. The water collection container preferably has a handle in which the handle is closer to the top of the dehumidifier than to the bottom of the dehumidifier.

Abstract: A telescope lock mechanism for a steering column includes a plurality of column teeth operably connected to the steering column and an adjustment lever operably connected to the steering column to allow user adjustment of a position of the steering column. A locking bolt extends from the adjustment lever, and a cam is located at the locking bolt and rotatable thereon. The cam includes one or more tab features interactive with the locking bolt such that rotation of the locking bolt engages the tab features with the locking bolt to drive rotation of the cam between a locked and unlocked position. The tab further includes a plurality of cam teeth meshable with the plurality of column teeth when the cam is in a locked position. A spring is operably connected to the cam to maintain the cam position in the locked and/or unlocked position when the cam is rotated thereto.

Abstract: A digital notification and response system for digitally notifying customers of an utility. The system includes a plurality of user contact devices, an application programming interface, and a dynamic information database. Real time digital user data comprising bank identified grouping information for forming user groups, user contact device information for each contact device, and utility provided user contact device priority information is received by the application programming interface and stored in the dynamic information database. The user contact device priority information is used to form a first and second group of user contact devices. Messages are transmitted through at least two industry standard gateways to the user contact devices, wherein the messages are simultaneously transmitted to the first group of user contact devices before the second group of user contact devices.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a blade is provided. The method includes providing a plurality of first plies, each of the first plies sized to extend substantially the length of a span of the blade and providing a plurality of second plies, each of the second plies sized to extend only partially the length of the span of the blade. The method also includes layering the plurality of first plies and the plurality of second plies in a mold such that the plurality of second plies is interspersed throughout the plurality of first plies to spread apart the plurality of first plies to facilitate increasing a cross-sectional area of the blade and bonding the plurality of first plies to the plurality of second plies to facilitate forming a structural core of the blade.

When a location aware mobile device enters an altered service zone, an application executing in the mobile device can alter the services of the device that are available to users. In one example, text or other screen-intensive services of a mobile device may be restricted or altered to voice based services as a user of the device drives through a school zone.

Abstract: A location aware mobile device may include an accelerometer or similar motion sensing component that can measure changes in speed or direction. An application executing in the mobile device can determine whether particular motion changes are indicative of the mobile device being involved in a crash event. If the motion parameters indicate that a crash event has occurred, the mobile device can communicate a crash event notification to a server, which can alert an emergency response unit about the crash, including the crash location, without the need for human intervention. Verification of the crash event may be performed at the server in a variety of ways, including the simultaneous receipt of crash event notifications from multiple co-located devices.

Once the financial message is received a response is transmitted back through the two industry standard protocols back to the dynamic information database to insure the financial account is fully funded.

Abstract: A widget is incorporated into a user interface associated with a processing system to provide the user with a display of the entered data, together with any added text or other data modifications that result from application of a default format. The widget also provides a toggle capability, to allow the user to override the default behavior of the processing system and select a different valid format for use with the entered data, from a format priority list contained in the widget. The display and toggle capabilities cause the entered data to be processed by the system as intended by the user.
