    Abstract: A method for intercepting encrypted communications exchanged between first and second computing devices in a communication network, wherein interception is performed by a third computing device in the computing network. The third computing device obtains one or more packets having a packet address associated with one of the first and second computing devices in response to at least one interception routing policy being implemented in at least one element in the communication network, such that the obtained packets may be decrypted to obtain data contained therein. The third computing device preserves the packet address of the obtained packets and forwards the obtained packets toward a packet-destination one of the first and second computing devices such that the packet-destination one of the first and second computing devices is unable to detect from the one or more packets that the one or more packets were intercepted by the third computing device.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling telecommunications call processing is disclosed. In a switching system, a Master Controller is provided for maintaining the database of the system, and for receiving call processing control messages. The Master Controller receives these messages via a core switching fabric network of the switching system. The Master Controller selects one of a plurality of feature processors, the feature processors being of several types for processing different features, to process the received call processing message. The Master Controller, if necessary, transmits not only the call processing message, but also state information about the call to the selected feature processor. The feature processor processes the message, and returns call state update data to the Master Controller. The feature processor also transmits messages for controlling other units in order to implement the desired response to the received call processing message.

    Abstract: The present invention provide a method for automatically selecting the alert type of a mobile electronic device, and a mobile electronic device embodying such technology. The location of the mobile electronic device is determined either by a processor in the mobile electronic device or by the network using triangulation techniques. Based upon the location information, the mobile device changes the alert type. The alert type can be changed to a silent mode, such as vibrate, when the mobile device is located in an area in which an audible alert would be disturbing. The alert type can also be changed to a loud audible alert when the location is a noisy one, such as a factory. The alert type is changed back to its initial value upon leaving the predetermined location.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile electronic device and a method for providing a courtesy alerting feature. The mobile electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a pager, a PDA, or the like, receives a call request. If the user of the mobile electronic device wants to answer the call request but cannot do so immediately, the user can activate the courtesy alerting feature using an input device on the mobile device. The user presses a key or sequence of keys on the mobile device. A message is sent to the calling party alerting them that the user of the mobile device cannot currently answer the call but is moving to a place where the call request can be taken. Once in a location where the call can be taken, the user presses an answer button on the mobile device and the call is completed.
