  • Publication number: 20070100766
Abstract: A system and method for a user to log broadcast content at the time of the broadcast by selecting the content source on a device, the device having been configured to send the user's selection, date and timestamp, and a unique identification to a content server. The content server obtains a playlist of broadcast content from the content source, and uses the information from the user device to identify on the playlist the specific content selected by the user. The content server delivers the specific content to the user, by electronic mail or via a web page, together with associated content.

  • Publication number: 20070093792
Abstract: Surgical accessories are presented in vivo and used by surgical tools in the surgical site to perform additional tasks without the need to remove the tools from the surgical site for tool change or instrument loading. Examples of in vivo accessories include fastening accessories such as surgical clips for use with a clip applier, single working member accessories such as a blade which can be grasped and manipulated by a grasping tool for cutting, sheath accessories that fit over working members of a tool, flow tubes for providing suction or introducing a fluid into the surgical site, and a retraction member resiliently biased to retract a tissue to expose an area in the surgical site for treatment. The accessories can be introduced into the surgical site by a dedicated accessory introducer, or can be supported on the body of a surgical tool inserted into the surgical site and be manipulated using another surgical tool in the surgical site.

  • Publication number: 20060223493
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhancing the survivability of a wireless communications network in response to catastrophic events. The operation of one or more partitions of wireless system components is monitored, and one or more emergency communications are rerouted through the network when one or more of these partitions of wireless system components is determined to be non-operational. In one embodiment of the invention, catastrophic alerting system nodes are associated with and co-located with each of various types of wireless system components, such as, for example, mobile switching centers, base station controllers and base stations, and advantageously identify segments (e.g., partitions of wireless system components) that are out of service. Then, emergency communications (e.g., “911” calls) may be advantageously rerouted through the network when one or more of these partitions of wireless system components is determined to be non-operational.

  • Patent number: 6068318
Abstract: There is a clamp for a conveyor belt. The clamp comprises a yoke having a shoulder member, two laterally extending arms defining a recess therebetween and a channel which extends through the yoke at a right angle to the width of the recess. In use of the clamp an edge portion of the belt is located in the recess and a pair of beams are inserted through the channel to pass respectively over and under the belt and rotation of a turn-screw extending through a threaded seat in one of the arms exerts a clamping force through the beams directly onto the edge portion of the belt.
