Abstract: A heating vest containing heaters for warming the torso, sensors for detecting skin temperature of the torso, and a feedback device for feeding torso skin temperature to a heater controller. Other sensors detect the skin temperature of the extremities which is also fed to the heater controller. Heating of the torso causes warm blood to flow to the extremities to warm the latter, making it possible to work at relatively cold temperatures without thick coverings on the extremities.

Abstract: A portable, forced air apparatus for warming a hypothermia victim in the field includes a stretcher, strips of material extending across the stretcher for supporting the torso of the victim above the stretcher bottom, a canopy for covering the victim's torso, a blower operated heater in a compartment in the stretcher beneath the victim's legs for delivering hot air to the canopy in the area of the torso for warming the victim's body while the legs and arms are covered to prevent heat loss, a heated head and neck support for controlled warming of the victim's head and neck, and sleeves for covering the victim's arms and legs to prevent heat loss therefrom during torso warming. The heating system is complemented by warm IV infusion and warm oxygen delivery to the victim.

Abstract: Heat control for an animal body is provided by way of micro-climate conditioning clothing incorporating an inner first layer of spacer mesh material. A second layer of impermeable material is in contact with the first layer and has perforations therethrough. A third layer of spacer mesh material is provided as well as a fourth outer layer of impermeable material which is fastened along its edges to the second layer. An inlet/outlet port for a gaseous fluid is provided.
