  • Publication number: 20070027736
Abstract: There is disclosed a computer apparatus incorporating a model component for calculating time series and a user interface component for controlling the model and displaying the time series. The user interface allows events to be defined which are used by the model, by positioning event markers relative to an event schedule graphic. The apparatus may be used as a financial planning tool, in which case the model is a financial model and the events are financial events. Such a planning tool may further incorporate a component to provide planning suggestions based on the model and defined events.

  • Publication number: 20070002788
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. The method further includes suppressing a selected one or more of the samples if the selected samples are similar to previously received samples and interleaving one or more voice data segments associated with a voice call into outgoing Internet protocol (IP) traffic flows. In more particular embodiments, packets that do not come in from a GSM port on the cell site element are designated as default best effort (BE) traffic.

  • Publication number: 20060268761
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and inspecting the bits. The method also includes determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. A portion of the bits is converted to 1 bits such that they are designated for later suppression. A selected one or more of the samples are suppressed if the selected samples are designated for suppression.

  • Publication number: 20060251063
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of cells associated with a communications flow and determining whether one or more of the cells included in the flow should be suppressed, whereby a selected one or more of the cells are suppressed. The method also includes identifying cells that cannot be suppressed and suppressing portions thereof.

  • Patent number: 7123936
Abstract: A cellular telephone includes an internally integrated digital entertainment module. The telephone includes a transceiver unit and a headset which is connected to the transceiver unit by wired or wireless link. The entertainment module includes an interchangeable ROM and/or expansion RAM for storing music or other audio signals for playback through the telephone's headset. Music or other audio signals in digitized form is stored in the interchangeable ROM or is loaded into the expansion RAM from a CD player, computer, or other source of digitized audio signals. Under control of the cellular telephone's microprocessor, the digitally stored audio signal is played back through the telephone's headset. The entertainment module may be located in the transceiver unit, a removable battery pack, or in a separate adapter.

  • Publication number: 20060215635
Abstract: A method for communicating data is provided that includes receiving a plurality of bits associated with a communications flow and determining whether one or more samples included in the flow should be suppressed. The method also includes suppressing a selected one or more of the samples if the selected samples are similar to previously received samples. In a more particular embodiment, the method also includes positioning unique samples that are included in the flow in a super-frame to be communicated to a next destination. Additionally, the method may include receiving the unique samples and evaluating the unique samples in order to restore a plurality of bits associated with the communications flow.

  • Patent number: 4069708
Abstract: A bluff body flowmeter for a pipeline is disclosed with a plate mounted within the pipe and downstream of a vortex generating body for maintaining fluid vortex streets separated to facilitate their detection and translation into indications of flowrate through the pipe. The plate is mounted downstream of the vortex generating body at a prescribed distance which defines the vortex sensing site. A plurality of plate and sensing embodiments is disclosed. In one configuration, the plate is a flat rectangular plate spanning the entire inner diameter of the pipe and has its ends rigidly secured to the inner pipe wall. The plate comprises upper and lower surfaces having a downstream length for enabling fluid vortex signals to occur alternately about the environment of each such surface. The upper and lower plate surfaces flex, or move within a midsection between its fixed ends and that flexing causes vortex signal changes which are detected by a sensor.

  • Patent number: 4047432
Abstract: A bluff body flowmeter, including a bluff body having a planar base surface portion disposed normal to fluid flow and a pair of converging downstream surfaces, is provided with a fluid flow channel in the base surface portion, a sensor in the channel and a shield which partially covers the channel and protects the sensor from impact damage. The shield and channel are mutually adapted so that fluid flow through the channel is substantially unidirectional. In one embodiment at least that portion of the shield which covers the channel is shorter than the channel thus forming a rectangular notch which acts as a fluid flow entrance port.
