  • Patent number: 5508329
Abstract: A polymer composition stabilized against degradation during melt processing comprises a major amount of a polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one olefin and a minor amount of a stabilizer. The stabilizer can be a mixture of an aluminum trailalkoxide or hydrolysis product thereof with a amine, preferably a C.sub.12 to C.sub.20 amine; alternatively the stabilizer can be the reaction product of an aluminum alkoxide and an amine, preferably a C.sub.1 to C.sub.20 amine, or it can be a compound of the formula Al(OR.sup.x.sub.2)(NR.sup.3 R.sup.4.sub.y).

  • Patent number: 4925914
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for producing high molecular weight homopolyamides from a nylon salt formed from substantially equimolar proportions of a diamine and a dicarboxylic acid. The process comprises: (a) dispersing the nylon salt in its finely divided state having uniformly preblended therein a solid hypophosphite catalyst in a liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon, and polycondensing the dispersion either (b) at a temperature above 100.degree. C. but below the lower of the two temperatures representing the melting point of the nylon salt and the eventual polyamide product respectively where the polyamide product is a crystalline, or, (c) at a temperature up to 60.degree. C. above the glass transition temperature of the polyamide product where such product is amorphous.

  • Patent number: 4571413
Abstract: A curable phenolic resin composition comprising (A) a major proportion of an aqueous phenolic resole resin and (B) a minor proportion of a poly(1,2-alkylene oxide) having terminating groups selected from the group comprising --NH.sub.2, --CONH.sub.2, --CH.CO.NH.sub.2 and --OCONH.sub.2 groups. The compositions are preferably cured with an acid catalyst and post cured at an elevated temperature.
