Patent number: 6776167Abstract: A molded plastic repository for spent smoking materials having separate base and column pieces with connecting portions which are connected for use by a connector which engages the connecting portions. The base and column are molded as a single piece then severed in a plane so as to provide similar connecting portions in relation to the severing plane. The method of fabricating and assembly provides a savings in storing and shipping the repository.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2002Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventor: John G. Patent number: 6523308Abstract: A rotating-cover storage shed for storing drums of material which is potentially hazardous to the environment. The shed provides a means for containing any leaking material and also provides for protection from the weather and from unauthorized access to the stored contents. Access to the contents is easily made by rotatably opening one of a pair of rotating cover sections.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2001Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventor: John G. Patent number: 6250015Abstract: A mechanism for self-latching access doors of a safety cabinet following sequential self-closing of the doors. Latching takes place between the doors and at a top and bottom frame of the cabinet. A latching arm and two actuating arms extend from a bellcrank which is biased toward a latched position. An interference bar prevents rotation of the bellcrank to the latched position when the doors are open. Upon sequential self-closing of the doors an actuating means slides the interference bar to a position of non-interference with the bellcrank which enables the self-latching action to take place.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2000Date of Patent: June 26, 2001Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventor: John G. Patent number: 6242070Abstract: Molded plastic energy absorbing cushions for protecting columns in facilities such as warehouses or manufacturing plants having forklifts or other such mobile equipment moving about. A pair of cushions, positioned back-to-back surround a column at its base to protect it from colliding equipment. The cushions are hollow with corrugations on their faces to absorb impact of a collision. A cavity is configured in a back of each cushion to add impact absorbing properties.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2000Date of Patent: June 5, 2001Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventors: John G. Patent number: 6189720Abstract: A system for storing industrial drums in a manner allowing convenient dispensing of stored material contents from any of the drums during storage. The system comprises modular components which can be combined in a multitude of configurations to comply with drum storage requirements. When used in combination with means for retaining hazardous-material leaked from the drums or spilled during dispensing, contamination of the environment and/or injury to workplace personnel is prevented. The components of the invention direct the leaked or spilled material to the hazardous-material retaining means. Storage of “hazardous material” as well as other materials is accomplished in a safe and convenient manner.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1999Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventor: John G. Patent number: 5944399Abstract: A safety cabinet for the storage of flammable or combustible materials has doors designed to automatically close in a specified sequence. The door sequencing device has three components: a stop bracket mounted to one door, a cam bracket mounted to the other door and a slide bar with a roller on one end mounted to the inside surface of the top of the safety cabinet. The slide bar is operably associated with the two brackets such that it blocks the movement of the stop bracket on one door until the cam bracket of the other door engages the roller and removes the slide bar from the path of the stop bracket thereby allowing the second door to close.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1998Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventor: John G. Patent number: 5392911Abstract: A hazardous material spill skid for use with one or two barrels has a tray with upwardly and outwardly extending side walls and end walls and a bottom wall with an upwardly extending hollow support post. The side and end walls have horizontal flanges with an upper surface coplanar with the upper surface of the support post, and an upwardly extending rim. Preferably, a side wall locking lip is provided on one of the side walls and an end wall locking lip on each end wall to secure a grate to the tray. The grate is preferably a blow molded unit having hollow parallel bars and cross-bars contained within a hollow frame.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1994Date of Patent: February 28, 1995Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventors: John G. Patent number: 5375537Abstract: A hazardous material spill skid has a tray and a pair of interchangeable grate members for support of industrial drums. The tray has a bottom and upwardly and outwardly extending walls that terminate as horizontal flanges with an outer rim and inward lips. A hollow center post is provided with four arms, one of which extends towards each corner of the tray. A pair of blow molded, hollow, interchangeable grate members rest on the horizontal flanges of the side and end walls of the tray and directly on two of the arms of the center post to provided support for the grate member and drums placed thereon.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1993Date of Patent: December 27, 1994Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventors: John G. Patent number: 5249693Abstract: A plastic waste can for collection of flammable waste has a self-closing cover disposed on a body portion or receptacle. A foot pedal situated in a channel formed in the bottom wall of the body portion and pivotally secured therein is depressed by a user to raise a lift bar which engages the cover to raise the cover. A cover lift accelerator is provided on the undersurface of the cover, with a hinge pin hingedly connecting the cover to the body portion through first and second hinge pin supports. The cover is arranged to open to no more than 70.degree. to the horizontal so as to assure that the cover will close, by gravity, upon release of the foot pedal by a user.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1992Date of Patent: October 5, 1993Assignee: Eagle Manufacturing CompanyInventors: John G.
