  • Publication number: 20240111450
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for effectively delivering notifications in data storage environments includes, receiving, by a storage controller from a host system, a request to register the host system with the storage controller to receive notifications. These notifications may be associated with a selected type of event detected by the storage controller. In certain embodiments, the selected type of event is a space-related condition associated with a particular storage resource controlled by the storage controller. The computer-implemented method registers the host system with the storage controller. In response to detecting an event of the selected type on the storage controller, the computer-implemented method transmits a notification from the storage controller to the host system to provide notice of the event. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5893972
Abstract: A sector for a rotary disc filter has two elongate side channesl that have a generally U-shaped cross section. Each side channel defines an open trough that faces the interior of the sector. The side channels have smooth, convex shapes forming smooth, rounded side edges extending laterally along the opposite radial sides of the sector. Filter media is formed as an envelope having a shape corresponding to the sector. The envelope fits over the sector, with the filter media curving smoothly over the curved side edges of the sector. The envelope is formed by superposed layers of filter media, and the layers are secured together at mutually respective side edges thereof. The side edges are joined together by a mechanical clamp system or by a strip of polymeric material that is melted and infused into the side edges of the filter media. A clamp system on the sector bell attaches the truncated end of the filter media to the sector bell.

  • Patent number: 5607588
Abstract: An elongate scraper apparatus for scraping filter cake from a moving filter medium of a filter apparatus comprises an elongate bar or scraper having a length sufficient to substantially span the face of the filter medium upon which filter cake is deposited. The bar has a broad, continuous, smooth, front face that is parallel with the surface of the filter medium. The broad, front face of the bar or scraper allows substantial contact with the surface of the filter medium over the entire surface of the front face of the bar or scraper. The elongate bar or scraper further has a top face that forms a chisel edge at the top edge of the front face. The chisel edge points in a direction parallel with the surface of the filter medium. As the filter medium bulges outwardly, it applies uniform pressure on the broad face of the bar or scraper so that the bar or scraper flexes to conform to the contour of the bulging filter medium.

  • Patent number: 4427089
Abstract: A steerable drive axle is disclosed having a cramp angle of about 45.degree. for providing a short radius of turn for a vehicle. A trunnion assembly for each wheel includes upper and lower bearing units each having a spherical bearing and a king pin with a longitudinal axis. Axial misalignment of the king pins is corrected by the spherical bearings for enabling the upper and lower roller bearings to rotate about a common axis thereby minimizing bearing wear.
