  • Patent number: 9697413
Abstract: A remote data capture system includes a host computing device. A client computing device is communicatively coupled to the host computing device. A capture device having a sensor is coupled to the client computing device. The capture device is configured to receive an electrical input signal from the sensor, convert the input signal to corresponding input data having a predetermined format, compress the input data to a variable-length bit stream, and convert the bit stream to keyboard codes. The client computing device selectably transmits the keyboard codes to the host computing device.

  • Patent number: 8437688
Abstract: A system and method for generating a test and an answer key to identify correct answers is disclosed. A test can be created by entering a set of questions with answer choices and correct answers at the same time. The tests can be rendered via a rendering device that includes both the questions and the answer choices. A ticket can be generated that drives a CNC (computer numerically control) machine to create a punched answer key with holes that align over correct answers. The answer key can also be rendered on a transparency utilizing a solid color everywhere except an area where the correct answer should be marked. The test and the answer key can also be rendered and aligned side by side in order to identify correct answers.

  • Patent number: 6686930
Abstract: A method for copying and pasting a selected portion of an image from a TWAIN compliant image source includes scanning the selected image portion to fit in a target area of a destination image. Dimensional information regarding the selected portion of the source image is made available to the application. The application compares dimensions of the target area with the dimensional information of the selected source image portion and determines resizing parameters. The application requests a scan of the selected portion of the source image based on the resizing parameters and pastes the resulting image in the target area. An image processing system operative to carry out the method includes and a TWAIN compliant application that is adapted to calculate resizing parameters and request scans basted on the resizing parameters. In a xerographic environment, the image processing system includes a xerographic printer.

  • Patent number: 5619346
Abstract: A full color digital scanning system includes a lamp carriage having a light source and a mirror. A mirror carriage is also included with a rotatable corner mirror assembly. The rotatable corner mirror assembly has a first color corner mirror subassembly, a second color corner mirror subassembly, and a third color corner mirror subassembly. The scanning system positions a first color corner mirror on a mirror carriage to provide a 180.degree. cornering function and scans the image to produce image data representing a first color component. The scanning system then positions a second color corner mirror on the mirror carriage to provide a 180.degree. cornering function and scans the image to produce image data representing a second color component. The scanning system further positions a third color corner mirror on the mirror carriage to provide a 180.degree. cornering function and scans the image to produce image data representing a third color component.

  • Patent number: 4697614
Abstract: The discharge ends of hot and cold water pipes are provided with valved outlets discharging into a common single water outlet and a by-pass pipe communicates the hot and cold water pipes upstream from but reasonably closely adjacent the hot and cold water outlets. A water accumulator is communicated with a mid-length portion of the by-pass pipe, a remotely operable flow-control valve is serially connected in the by-pass pipe intermediate the accumulator and the hot water pipe and an adjustable pressure regulator is serially connected in the cold water pipe closely upstream from the by-pass pipe.
