  • Publication number: 20230232734
Abstract: A seeding device for depositing seeds in a soil material, comprising: (i) a frame detachably mounted to a support structure of a moveable gantry, (ii) a plurality of discs rotatably mounted about a shaft of the frame and configured to be vertically lowered into the soil at a predefined depth relative to the ground plane, and, (iii) a seed deposition system mounted to the frame configured to dispense seeds into a plurality of seeding tubes. Each seeding tube is aligned with, and disposed downstream from, a respective one of the plurality of discs such that as the frame traverses over the soil by displacement of flue moveable gantry, grooves are produced in the soil by the plurality of discs, and seeds are deposited into each groove by the seeding tubes of the seed deposition system.

  • Publication number: 20230232813
Abstract: A soil beating apparatus comprising: (i) a frame configured to he detachably mounted to a support structure of a moveable gantry., (ii) an exhaust hood disposed in combination with the frame and having a shield directing heat downwardly toward a soil material to be heat treated, (iii) a plurality of plates each an end portion projecting downwardly from the exhaust hood toward the soil material and configured to be lowered into the soil material by the frame at a predefined depth relative to the ground plane of the soil material, and (iv) a burner disposed in combination with the exhaust hood and in fluid communication with a first supply of fuel and oxidizer, the burner configured to combust the first supply of fuel and oxidizer to beat each of the plates. The plurality of plates are oriented along a direction of motion of the moveable gantry to transfer heat into the soil material at the predefined depth to thermally heat-treat the soil material.

  • Publication number: 20070220810
Abstract: A method for recycling the waste heat generated from an external process, which is fuelled by syngas, into a gasification process to enhance the energy density of the syngas produced as well as the overall gasification efficiency of the system. A method is provided for utilizing the waste heat contained in a stream exiting in the syngas fueled process to vaporize water and produce steam. The steam is then upgraded by first exchanging energy with the hot syngas exiting the gasifier and then within the gasifier itself to a temperature where significant steam gasification of the biomass occurs. The process within the gasifier is driven by introducing a small amount of air into the gasifier such that some biomass is directly combusted to provide the heat required by the process.

  • Publication number: 20070220805
Abstract: A method for producing a gasifier feedstock with uniform gasification characteristics from a number of biomass sources which each exhibit differences in their drying, pyrolysis, devolatization or gasification characteristics. The method allows biomass from a wide range and sources and with a wide range of gasification characteristics to be utilized within a gasifier without modification of the gasifier unit. The method produces a fuel pellet with controllable size, density and moisture content. The method smoothes any changes in calorific value which may exist between different feedstocks. It has been found that the gasification characteristics of a pellet formed in this way is strongly dependant upon the shape, moisture content and density of the pellet formed and less sensitive to the origin of the biomass feedstock.

  • Publication number: 20070196250
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the continuous production of biofuel by the transesterification of a triglyceride. The apparatus comprises a high shear homogenizer; a reaction chamber; a gravity driven separation device; an evacuated packed thin film stripper; a counter current pack water contactor; and, an evacuated packed spray drier, wherein each component operates with minimal heat and mass transfer resulting in a high capacity process with a reduced footprint.

  • Publication number: 20060291148
Abstract: The invention provides a circuit breaker panel with several safety features. The main breaker is separated from the circuit breakers by a non-conducting shield. The main breaker is also covered by a transparent, non-conducting shield. A further transparent non-conducting shield separates the circuit breakers from the neutral and ground bus bars. The neutral and ground bus bars are offset from one another to prevent wire crowding. Bending posts extending from the back plate of the panel help control the wire in the panel to prevent it from crossing bus bars or circuit breakers.

  • Patent number: 6343277
Abstract: A computer-assisted method of facilitating a transaction between an energy consumer-client desiring an energy contract and an energy supplier. The method includes posting a buy order where the supplier can access the buy order via a computer network and receiving a bid from the supplier via the network. The method also includes accepting the bid via the network when a precondition is met.

  • Patent number: 5274345
Abstract: A SAW reflector structure located between multiple interdigitated generator/receivers located on a piezo-electric substrate forming a ladder type SAW device is described. The reflector structure reduces both reflections due to mechanical-electrical loading from the physical presence of generator/receiver fingers without using a split finger arrangement as well as reflections due to the regenerated reflection from the generator/receiver. The reflector has a first acoustic phase center. The generator/receiver has a second acoustic phase center, a regenerated voltage coefficient of reflection, r.sub.e and a mechanical-electrical loading coefficient of reflection, r.sub.m. The reflector is used for simultaneously reflecting both regenerated and mechanical-electrical loading induced reflections from the generator/receiver. The reflector is sized for a strength of reflection equal to the square root of the sum of the regenerated and mechanical-electrical loading reflections squared.
