  • Patent number: 11926813
Abstract: Systems, including methods and apparatus, for growing viable monoclonal colonies, identifying them as monoclonal after their viability has been demonstrated, and picking and placing them into a target environment. The methods may include plating cells at low density in a well, capturing at a first time shortly after plating a series of vertically spaced-apart images of the well showing locations of the cells, capturing at a second, later time images of the same well showing locations of candidate cell colonies, determining a likelihood that the candidate colonies are monoclonal based on information in the first set of images, and, based on the likelihood, picking candidate colonies using a picking head for transfer to a target environment.

  • Publication number: 20230312169
Abstract: The patent application concerns a drum pallet (10) suitable for positioning one drum or a plurality of drums thereon, wherein the pallet has a deck (11), skids (2) and a plurality of blocks (12), coupling the deck with the skids, thereby forming a gap (5) therebetween for receiving a lifting member. The deck and the plurality of blocks form one monolithic body (1). The skids are connected below the blocks to the blocks. The body consists of a compression molded thermoset composite. The upper surface (13) of the deck comprises vertical protrusions (14A, 14B) adapted to avoid shifting of the drum along the surface, if the drum is positioned on the deck and aligned with the protrusions.

  • Patent number: 10454472
Abstract: A drive circuit for a half bridge transistor circuit formed of enhancement mode GaN transistors. A shunt diode is connected to the bootstrap capacitor at a node between the bootstrap capacitor and ground, the shunt diode being decoupled from the midpoint node of the half bridge by a shunt resistor. The shunt diode advantageously provides a low voltage drop path to charge the bootstrap capacitor during the dead-time charging period when both the high side and low side transistors of the half bridge are off.

  • Patent number: 7715013
Abstract: A system is provided to monitor targeted pest populations, disease, presence of transgenic and non-transgenic plants, or targeted pest population in a transgenic crop using remote imagery to discern differences in crops along with pest infestation in all crop varieties. The system relies on the fact that plant leaves are known to change color based on stress, herbivory, and other environmental factors. The system provides a special camera that can see reflected light energy across the visible and near infrared (about 400-1000 nm) to identify these effects.

  • Publication number: 20060243784
Abstract: A corrugated container for shipping containers, such as glass bottles, includes a shipping box, a liner, one or more cross-pieces, a top sheet and a bottom sheet. The liner, cross-pieces, top sheet and bottom sheet may be made of corrugated or hexacomb material to provide shock absorbing protection to the bottles received within the shipping box. The liner and cross-pieces do not extend the full height of the box to allow the corners of the box to crush or crumple in the event the container is dropped on one of its upper corners. A pair of staggered hand holes may be formed in the opposite sides of the box to enable ergonomic lifting of the container.

  • Publication number: 20060119185
Abstract: A high frequency, full bridge, resonant DC to DC converter provides a main DC output voltage that is regulated by adjusting the phase shift of the input power to a main input transformer and at least one additional DC output voltage that is regulated on the secondary side of the power input transformer. A main DC output voltage is regulated by a full bridge resonant switching converter with lossless switching of input power devices. At least one additional secondary winding on the transformer supplies a second DC output voltage that is regulated independently of the main DC output voltage. Two switching devices are used for each auxiliary DC output to regulate each auxiliary output voltage by adjusting the length of the on time of the pulses from the transformer's auxiliary secondary windings. Soft switching techniques are used to ensure that the switching devices turn on when the voltage across them is effectively zero.

  • Publication number: 20060118550
Abstract: A dual coil induction cooking system and method for heating ferrous and non-ferrous cooking vessels. The system includes a first resonant circuit for inducing a current in a ferrous metal cooking vessel at a first frequency and a second resonant circuit, wired in a parallel combination with the first resonant circuit, for inducing a current in a non-ferrous metal cooking vessel at a second frequency. The system also includes a power source for powering the parallel combination, so that one of the first and the second resonant circuits is coupled to supply power through the parallel combination to a respective one of the cooking vessels. A method for coupling power to a load includes sweeping a parallel combination of resonant circuits with a variable frequency power, detecting a resonant frequency response corresponding to a metallic composition of the load, and simultaneously powering the parallel combination of resonant circuits at a frequency corresponding to the detected resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 5299823
Abstract: A snowboard binding assembly comprising a fixed jaw to engage one side of a boot, and a slide jaw assembly to engage an opposite of the boot. An operating lever positions a slide jaw housing in a locking mode where the slide jaw assembly is fixed in locking engagement with the boot, an intermediate step-in position where the slide jaw housing can move laterally to a release position, and a disengaging position where the slide jaw housing is either positively moved to the release position or can readily be moved to the release position in opposition to the spring. In one preferred embodiment, a locking finger is mounted to a rotatable shaft connected to the positioning lever, and a cam finger causing movement of the slide jaw housing is mounted to the cam member.
