  • Patent number: 7469337
Abstract: A method to protect stored data is provided, comprising performing one or more times, by a processor, the following actions: receiving from a device verification information generated using common information known to the device and to the processor, verifying the validity of the verification information using the common information, determining an authorization status of the device based on (1) the validity of the verification information and (2) the time the verification information is received by the processor, and receiving a request from the device to access the stored data. The device is allowed to access the stored data based on the authorization status at the time the request is received.

  • Patent number: 7093127
Abstract: A system and method that improves security of a computer storage system by requiring an initiating computer to periodically reaffirm its identity by transmitting a message to a servicing computer. The message contains a previously established authentication message and a sequence value, established by and known only to the original participants. A message must be received by the servicing computer within a predetermined time interval in order to maintain data communications between the original participants.

  • Patent number: 6253211
Abstract: Replication tracking apparatus is described for tracking replication of data in a distributed data processing system having plural application server computer systems interconnected via a network, wherein each application server has a database application having a database and means for communicating data from the database via the network to plural client computer systems and to others of the application servers. The apparatus generates an event message on detection of an absence of database replication by the application servers.

  • Patent number: 6167431
Abstract: Described is a server probe for use in a distributed data processing system having plural application server computer systems interconnected via a network wherein each application server has a database application including a plurality of executable data management tasks and an initialisation table storing a task configuration indicative of which ones of the tasks should be active. The server probe reads the task configuration from the initialisation table from a target one of the application servers, identifies the tasks which are active in the target one of the application servers, and generates an event message if active tasks identified differ from the tasks specified in the initialisation table.

  • Patent number: 4346921
Abstract: In a drainage inspection chamber of the kind having a manhole access and a base with at least one channel in the base extending between an inlet opening and an outlet opening, the base is formed from plastics material and has an integral side wall structure, circular openings in the side wall structure constituting the inlet and outlet openings. Separately formed socket members for receiving inlet and outlet pipes are located at each of the openings, each of the socket member being provided with a resilient sealing member for sealing with the outer surface of a pipe fitted into the socket member, the sealing member also serving simultaneously to seal the socket member with the internal surface of the inspection chamber.
