  • Publication number: 20230205947
Abstract: Systems and methods for simulating cyber-physical systems are disclosed. A plurality of geographic simulation layers representing respective infrastructure sectors of a real-world environment may be generated, and the layers may be linked together with one another to create a multi-layer simulation. The associations between the layers of the simulation may be adjusted, and characteristics of the simulation layers themselves may be adjusted, to ensure that the simulation conforms to characteristics of the real-world environment being simulated. In some embodiments, a multi-user simulation system allows users at separate terminals to execute attack inputs and defense inputs against the simulation to try to destabilize and stabilize the simulation, respectively. Results of the attack inputs and defense inputs may be simultaneously displayed on a plurality of terminals.

  • Patent number: 11656528
Abstract: Multiple collimated laser beams can be arranged in a tightly packed non-overlapping array the goes through a telescope system to reduce the size of the beams and also the separation between the beam centers. The beams in the resulting smaller array then diverge until they reach a nonlinear lens, which collimates each of the beams individually so that all of the beams are collimated, pointing in the same direction and overlapping. The pulses in the beams are temporally separated from each other such that the nonlinear lens acts as a different lens for each of the beams. Such an arrangement facilitates scaling the far field average intensity by combining multiple temporally interleaved pulsed laser beams, allowing diverging pulsed laser beams to be collimated individually by utilizing the large nonlinear refractive index of certain materials.

  • Publication number: 20220326969
Abstract: Multi-tiered graphical user interface (GUI) systems and methods are described for interoperating between multiple mobile application modes during a real-time caregiving event. An expert GUI and a novice GUI are rendered having a an expert mode and an novice mode, respectively, that share a control state for passing operation between the expert mode and the novice mode. A triggering of a caregiving event is detected that causes the passing of the control state from the expert mode to the novice mode, and the rendering of a novice GUI in an interoperated sequence following rendering of the expert GUI. Caregiving data of a novice user is generated during the novice mode, wherein the novice GUI, as rendered during the novice mode, comprises a different interface compared with the expert GUI, and the novice GUI configured for manipulation by the novice user.

  • Patent number: 11454334
Abstract: A position transfer device is configured for use on a control valve. These configurations may convert a linear position of a closure member on the control valve to an angular position of magnets. A sensor in proximity to the magnets can generate a signal in response to the angular position. A valve positioner or controller can process the signal to identify the position of the closure member relative to a seat. In one implementation, the position transfer device includes a shaft that clamps onto a pin. This arrangement causes the pin to translate radially about an axis that is perpendicular to the shaft. The magnets move in response to the pin.

  • Publication number: 20220278562
Abstract: Wireless charging systems and methods for detecting foreign objects proximate the wireless charging systems. A wireless charging system (10) includes a wirelessly chargeable battery (14) that receives power from a wireless charging device (16) when the wirelessly chargeable battery (14) is proximate the wireless charging device (16). The wireless charging device (16) determines an actual electrical consumption of the wireless charging system (10), and the wirelessly charging battery (14) measures a voltage induced in the wirelessly chargeable battery (14) by the wireless charging device (16). The wireless charging device (16), the wirelessly chargeable battery (14), or a combination of the two determines an expected electrical consumption of the wireless charging system (10) based on the measured voltage, and determines whether a foreign object (12) is proximate the wireless charging system (10) based on the expected and actual electrical consumptions.
