Patent number: 10634456Abstract: An accessory mounting device to mount an accessory to a weapon such as a firearm provides a base coupled to a mount member, and an attachment body coupled to the mount member. The mount member and attachment body define an interlocking mesh such that the mount member couples to the attachment body in any one of a plurality of positions for which a first component of the interlocking mesh engages with one of a plurality of second components of the interlocking mesh.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2019Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: American Defense Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Steve Fischer, Adam Coker, John Gross, William Orne, III

Patent number: 10627192Abstract: An accessory mounting device to pivotably mount an accessory to a weapon such as a firearm provides recoil dampening and generally includes an accessory mount, a weapon attachment base, an arbor, and a detent mechanism. Advantageously, to flip or rotate the accessory mount through about 90 degrees between a first position above the base and a second position along a side of the base requires only grasping the accessory mount and rotating it from either of the positions through 90 degrees to the other position. No separate manual action to disengage any type of locking device is required, nor is any longitudinal or lateral translation of the mount involved. The function of providing stabilized, consistent location in each of the two positions, resistance to movement from each position, and manual movement of the mount that overcomes the resistance and rotates between the positions is provided by the detent mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2019Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: American Defense Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Steve Fischer, Adam Coker, John Gross, William Orne, III

Patent number: 9004439Abstract: A post anchor for securing a support post for a structure comprises a base with four upstanding sidewalls forming a cavity into which a post is inserted, and means to secure the post inside the cavity. Interior ribs and exterior augmented corners resist deformation under pressure exerted by the post. Interior channels allow water to drain from inside the cavity toward a drain hole. The anchor post is slightly elevated relative to the ground, allowing air and water to circulate around the post and post anchor. The post anchor is made of a thermoplastic polymer which is given a textured surface, and may include an ultraviolet protection additive.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2006Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: Peak Innovations Inc.Inventors: John Gross, Simon Walker, Frank Fan, Wei Min Zhu

Publication number: 20140277000Abstract: A method of using a biocompatible surgical silk mesh prosthetic device in body aesthetics and body contouring, the surgical mesh employing a knit pattern that substantially prevents unraveling and preserves the stability of the mesh device, especially when the mesh device is cut. An example prosthetic device employs a knitted mesh including at least two yarns laid in a knit direction and engaging each other to define a plurality of nodes. The at least two yarns include a first yarn and a second yarn extending between and forming loops about two nodes. The second yarn has a higher tension at the two nodes than the first yarn. the second yarn substantially prevents the first yarn from moving at the two nodes and substantially prevents the knitted mesh from unraveling at the nodes.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2014Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: Allergan, Inc.Inventors: Enrico Mortarino, Gregory H. Altman, John Gross

Patent number: 8578647Abstract: Systems and methods for securely mounting devices and/or accessories to vehicles and/or other supporting structures. The systems include a shaft having a longitudinal axis. A pair of clamp bodies cooperates with the shaft so that a distance is defined between the clamp bodies. A lever is engaged with the shaft and operable to alter the distance between the clamp bodies. A lock supported by the lever movably engages the shaft and maintains the orientation of the clamp bodies relative to one another by maintaining an orientation of the lever relative to the shaft so that the lever can only be operated when the lock is disengaged from the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2010Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: American Defense Manufacturing, LLCInventors: Troy Storch, John Gross, William Orne, III, Eric Stephen Kincel

Patent number: 7472874Abstract: A ground stake for securing ropes or other fastening elements comprises a head portion with an elevated, textured surface and two or more extending flanges above a neck portion comprising recesses and a passageway. A plurality of elongated fins, at least a portion of which are tapered, depend from the base of the head portion and terminate in a truncated blunt end, providing a stronger tip while allowing clean penetration of the ground. One or more of the fins may comprise a stiffening rib to increase the rigidity of the fin. The elevated, textured surface provides increased impact resistance and prevents slippage of a pounding implement when the stake is being driven into the ground.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2006Date of Patent: January 6, 2009Assignee: Peak Innovations Inc.Inventors: John Gross, Simon Walker, Frank Fan, Wei Min Zhu
