  • Patent number: 4601632
Abstract: A stowable ramp assembly for a pickup truck or the like includes a generally thin, flat and elongated ramp sleeve adapted for placement on a truck bed with the rearward end thereof positioned at the rearward end of the bed. An extension sleeve is telescopically slidable within the ramp sleeve and an elongated ramp is telescopically slidably received in the extension sleeve. The extension sleeve is rearwardly slidable to a working position over the lowered horizontal tailgate and the ramp is extendable rearwardly therefrom in the working position and connected to the extension sleeve for up and down pivotal movement of the rearward end of the ramp.

  • Patent number: 4265218
Abstract: A fireplace furnace includes an outer housing disposed about a firebox to define a heat chamber therebetween. A blower is associated with an air intake opening through a lower portion of the heat chamber for forcing air therethrough. Air exits from the heat chamber through first and second heat outlets. The second heat outlet includes a generally vertical duct with a damper pivotally supported therein for movement between a generally horizontal closed position and an upright open position. The damper is biased to its closed position and is opened against the urging of the biasing mechanism by forced air flow through the heat chamber by the blower with the result that the damper is automatically closed by the biasing mechanism when power to the blower is cut off.

  • Patent number: 4240902
Abstract: An apparatus for removing foreign matter from cotton includes an elongated frame having a plurality of rollers rotatably supported in closely spaced side-by-side relation therealong for conveying cotton over the rollers from one end of the frame to the other in response to rotation of the rollers in unison. The rollers have a plurality of protrusions so that the cotton is vertically shaken as it is conveyed over the rollers with the result that foreign matter falls between the rollers away from the cotton. The protrusions may be the transversely extended corners of polygonal shaped rollers, the corners being adapted to strike the cotton in response to rotation of the rollers for a more vigorous shaking action. A plate may be supported in vertically spaced relation above the rollers for rebounding cotton which is thrown up by the rollers back toward the rollers. A conveyor belt below the rollers collects the foreign matter which drops therethrough.
