  • Patent number: 4708265
Abstract: A practical and simple system that automatically measures and dispenses grain and powder type food products, such as sugar and flour contained within a canister type holder. The system consists of a drawer compartmentalized into precisely measured divisions with the topside uncovered and the bottomside selectively covered or uncovered by a moveable slide that allows for the pulling out of the drawer without spillage. The drawer will stop at one of several preset measured positions. These positions are controlled by a spring-pressured arm. With the drawer in a selected position the contents of the outward division or divisions of the drawer are dispensed accurately and immediately by pushing inwardly the moveable slide covering the bottom side. When the drawer is pulled outward an attached trailing horizontal upper slide prevents any of the contents within the canister from filling the empty area behind the drawer when the drawer is pulled out.

  • Patent number: 4653786
Abstract: A portable locking system for hinged door improves on the type having a right-angle end of a first member for engaging a strike plate in a door frame and second member with a right angle end for pressing against the door and laterally and detachably engaging the first member. The detachable lateral engagement of this invention includes a series of holes tangential to each other in the first member and a plurality of juxtaposed pins protruding from the second member in position for adjustably engaging any corresponding selected holes in the first member. The system preferably includes a "U"-shaped keeper for holding the first and second members together for carrying them, or after installation. For identification in the dark and for ease in handling, a second angled-end of the hole plate is made longer than the first end. Similarly, one of the legs of the "U"-shaped keeper is made longer than the other.

  • Patent number: 4546667
Abstract: A simple and economical vehicle accelerator setting control system for motor vehicles having pivotal brake and accelerator pedals includes knob-controlled provision for setting an angled portion of an elongate speed control rod assembly in position for holding an accelerator pedal down in a manner releasable by hand on the knob or by foot preserve on the brake pedal; the speed control rod assembly has a bottom portion angled to swivel over the accelerator pedal and hold it down by means of a catch acting on a rack on the speed control rod assembly; to release engagement of the rack, the knob is rotated manually to present a smooth, non-engageable surface to the rack, and the same thing is done by foot pressure on the vehicle brake pedal, which causes an arm adjustably mounted to the brake pedal to swing against and rotate the angled portion free of the accelerator pedal.

  • Patent number: 4419172
Abstract: An improvement for a system employing a heated iron V-shaped soleplate adapter to lay hot-melt tape in a "V" joint between building wall panels includes coacting subsystems for progressively changing the cross-sectional shape of tape fed in at the front end of the system from flat to "V" shaped and for releasibly retaining tape for preventing it from springing out of alignment at the rear end of the system; a special-shape head at the front end is resiliently mounted and a provision at the rear end keeps the tape retaining member out of the way when not in use.

  • Patent number: 4373987
Abstract: A stabilizing improvement for a manually operated system employing a heated "V"-section soleplate attachment for applying a heat-sealing tape along the interior joint between wall panels set at right angles to each other, provides first and second contacts located respectively in the planes of but spaced from the "V"-section soleplate attachment, for guiding on the wall panels to give greater stabilizing leverage for more uniform application of tape; resilient mounting of a member carrying the contacts and screw adjustment of the member are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4330355
Abstract: When manually propelled along a joint toward a barrier, as when manually propelled upward along a joint between wall panels this system covers the joint with heat-sealable metallic tape, heating the tape with an electric sole-plate, and by means of locking the tape-feed stops itself, preventing further propulsion, at exactly the right distance from the ceiling so that the tape when plunger-cut using a provision of the system will just extend to the ceiling and no more; cutting the tape releases the system so that it can be advanced by the ceiling to complete laying the terminal or cut end of the tape; this operation applies as well to traversing a ceiling joint or crack and laying tape right up to a wall; special collapsing sensor arm provisions and spool locking provisions co-act to produce the automatic measuring and tape laying; a graduated adjustment provides for calibration of the system.

  • Patent number: 4295921
Abstract: An adjustable braking and locking system for tape dispensed from a roll on a spindle mechanism having provision for mounting to a manually manipulable device such as a crack sealer for wall panels includes as part of the spindle a resilient friction-applying subsystem mounting a first end of the roll, a pin and an adjacent thrust limiting axial movement of the second end of the flange, and a sliding-wrenchtype locking mechanism for the friction applying subsystem.

  • Patent number: 4248659
Abstract: An angle soleplate for use as part of a heating type crack sealing system for applying thermosetting tape in an interior angle or corner joint formed by adjoining walls of a building, or for drying drywall tape already applied there, includes a thermally conductive sleeve with a "V" bottom therealong joining a rectangular inverted-"U"-section mounting portion; the contour of the "V" bottom preferably has a slight rounding at the apex of the "V" for reducing working pressure on the tape at a corner, and the invention preferably provides for detachable attachment to permit greater versatility in use of the crack sealing system.

  • Patent number: 4174249
Abstract: Apparatus for instantaneously sealing cracks in plaster and similar materials includes an electric iron of particular configuration for deploying and applying heat sealable adhesive coated metallic foil over cracks; the combination of foil strength, malleability and permanence when so-applied can effectively seal even "working" structural cracks permanently.
