  • Patent number: 6006027
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inserting an event into a simulation time queue, wherein the simulation time queue is represented by a tree structure having a top node which represents the total number of "time slices" to be simulated, intermediate nodes representing subsets of time slices within the total number of time slices to be simulated, and event locations representing events to be simulated. A time slice is defined to represent a minimum resolvable time period within the simulation. The method includes the steps of choosing a starting node within the tree structure, designating it as the current location, determining whether the current location is an intermediate node representing a range of time slices of which the time slice of the event to be inserted is a subset, determining, if the current location is such an intermediate node, if any existing child nodes of said current location are event locations, and if so, adding the event to the proper event location of said current location.

  • Patent number: 4361966
Abstract: A lightweight, compact hair dryer is provided having a rigid case to contain a blower-heater arrangement for the provision of hot air, a collapsible hood structure having a structural support connected to the case in supported relation thereby, the case having an extensible stand portion for attachment of the hood in supported relation therewith, the hood support comprising a flexible band which can be rolled into a roll for storage within the box, and in the open condition when attached to the stand portion providing a free standing support portion of the hood structure. The hood further includes air inflatable bag means extending from the hood band to partially enclose the head of a user when in use, the walls of the bag having apertures located to direct hot air in drying relation with the user's head, provided from a hose connection to the blower heater.

  • Patent number: 4267430
Abstract: A dual-voltage electric hair curling apparatus includes a having a handle and a heated barrel. A pair of positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating elements are located in the barrel and are operable, respectively, at a low automotive vehicle voltage and a high domestic voltage. A switch in the handle permits energization of either heating element dependent upon the voltage of the available power supply and an overload fuse prevents damage to the low voltage heater should it be accidently energized from a high voltage supply. The curler is provided with a power cord terminating in a two-pronged plug receivable into a corresponding receptable on a portable vanity case adapted to be mounted by clips to the visor of an automotive vehicle. The vanity case has a mirror illuminated by electric luminaires on its front surface and a cord set terminating in a plug receivable in an automobile cigar lighter is connected to the receptable and luminaires.
