  • Patent number: 5166714
Abstract: An underwater camera includes a housing supporting an exposure mechanism therein. The exposure mechanism includes a support frame and a conventional film transport and shutter mechanism. A motor drive system is operative upon the film transport and shutter mechanism to alternatively raise or lower the transport mechanism with respect to the camera imaging lens. A viewer is optically coupled to the imaging lens. In one position of the film transport, a focusing screen is positioned in alignment with the imaging lens to provide through the lens viewing while in the alternative position of the film transport, the to-be-exposed film and shutter assembly is interposed between the imaging lens and the viewer to properly expose the film.

  • Patent number: 4996544
Abstract: An autowinder for use with all weather or underwater cameras includes a sealed generally U-shaped housing having a threaded attachment to a camera body. An internal power source and bidirectional motor are supported within the housing and operatively coupled to the film advance mechanism of the camera by a drive belt system. A generally L-shaped lever is pivotally supported upon the autowinder body exterior and is operated in response to a trigger to actuate the shutter mechanism of the camera. A magnet is supported upon the L-shaped trigger arm and actuates the autowinder function within the housing. Magnetic limit switches are operative to control the direction and extent of motor operation to provide appropriate autowinding action.

  • Patent number: 4945369
Abstract: A film magazine for underwater cameras includes an outer housing attachable to an underwater camera. A seal is provided which seals the junction of the camera and film magazine. A pair of extended capacity film cannisters are supported within a film housing which in turn is received within the outer housing. A drive motor is operative upon the take-up film cannister and is controlled by a pivotal sensing lever which responds to film slack during the film transport operation of the camera.
