  • Patent number: 7458405
Abstract: A combination golf club head cover and towel includes a head cover which is open on the heel side of a golf club head to facilitate slipping it over the head. Mating first and second fasteners are attached to the edges adjacent the shaft to secure the cover around the shaft. A towel with at least a third fastener on an edge or corner thereof is releasably secured to a portion of at least one of the fasteners on the head cover to releasably hold the towel in place on the head cover both when the head cover is on the head of a golf club, or is removed from the golf club head.

  • Patent number: 6095214
Abstract: A golf club head cover is made primarily of stretchable fabric, which is in the shape of an elongated cylinder closed at the upper end and open at the lower end. The stretch fabric is made to stretch in a circumferential direction of the cover. The open lower end of the cover has dimensions which are smaller than the dimensions of a golf club head with which the cover is to be used; so that the cover stretches as the head is inserted. To facilitate placement of the cover over a golf club head, the lower open end of the cover has a pair of diametrically opposed lips extending from it. The lips are joined together at notches on diametrically opposite sides of the lips to facilitate use of the lips in placing the cover over a golf club head. The cover stretches to conform to the shape of the head, thereby protecting the head when it is inserted into the cover.

  • Patent number: 5284194
Abstract: A golf club head cover for use with golf clubs having graphite shafts has a generally cylindrically shaped head cover for the head of a golf club. This head cover has an upper end and a lower end. The upper end is closed, and the lower end is open. An elongated shaft protector is secured to the inside of the head cover at a point intermediate the upper and lower ends, to extend outwardly through the open lower end and downwardly along the shaft of a golf club inserted into the cover. This shaft protector portion is an elongated tapered element, which has mating closures along the opposite edges. When the shaft protector is open, the golf club head easily is inserted into the head cover portion and the shaft is placed between the open edges in the shaft protector. After the shaft is in place, the shaft protector is closed over the shaft to hold the head cover and shaft protector on the golf club as a unit.

  • Patent number: 4898222
Abstract: A golf club head cover which is particularly suitable for use with irons and putters having a variety of different configurations, is in the form of a generally "L-shaped" boot. The "toe" portion of the cover encases the golf club head and the "leg" portion surrounds the shaft of the club adjacent the point where it is attached to the head. The cover is open on its rear side (the heel side of the club-head) to facilitate slipping it over the head withoiut any twisting or manipulation. After the cover is in place, the edges adjacent the shaft are pressed together to close mating strips of hook and loop fabric fasteners together to secure the cover around the shaft. The portion adjacent the rear of the head remains open to facilitate removal of the cover by pulling forwardly to utilize the leverage on the shaft to separate the hook and loop fastener strips.
