  • Patent number: 5381633
Abstract: An assembly is provided for constructing a building, which can be used to construct a high rise building. A building assembly unit is prefabricated in a factory, and is transported to a construction site. The unit includes a floor member and a pivotably connected wall member, which may be an exterior or interior wall. Electrical wiring, plumbing, ventilation, doorways, windows, and so forth may be pre-installed in the factory. Each unit is configured to be installed on a support structure, which may be a high rise support structure. Each unit is connected to the support structure, and to a proximate unit.

  • Patent number: 4479333
Abstract: A building module of folded structural elements pivotably interconnected and unfoldable to present a building structure. A floor element and a pair of roof elements are connected in series by a pair of pivots and the combination is folded for transportation to a building site where the floor element can be placed on supports and the roof elements rotated to jointly form an angled roof component. A pair of wall elements may also be attached to and folded against the floor element such that when they are unfolded they form vertical walls and act to support the roof element.

  • Patent number: 3971185
Abstract: The specification and drawings disclose several collapsible building modules and methods of erecting them. The primary feature of the application concerns the use of modules which can be folded to a generally flat configuration for shipping and storage. An A-frame type module structure and method of erecting the same is disclosed. The method of erecting the A-frame type structure comprises providing first and second spaced apart bases and providing a module which includes first and second wall-defining members each having first and second end portions with the first end portion of the first wall member pivotally connected to the first end portion of the second wall member to permit the wall members to be folded or pivoted about a first axis to lie in side-by-side, generally parallel relationship. The module is positioned in its folded condition to lie generally horizontal with the second wall member subjacent the first wall member.

  • Patent number: 3953947
Abstract: The specification and drawings disclose a collapsible building module which in the preferred embodiment comprises a side wall frame assembly and a roof frame assembly which are interconnected along one of their edge portions by pivotal means to permit them to be folded about an axis of interconnection to lie in generally parallel planes. The disclosed structure also includes pivotally mounted interior wall panels, roof panels and/or floor panels carried by one or the other of the wall and roof assemblies. The free end portions of the roof frame assembly and the side wall frame assembly are provided with connecting means whereby they can be connected to a base or associated support structure for pivotal movement about axes parallel to the axis of interconnection between them. The specification further discloses certain preferred methods for erecting buildings by use of the modules.
