    Abstract: A valve is provided for installation in the auxillary duct of a furnace stack pipe. The valve prevents flow of air through the damper plate in the auxillary duct when the furnace is switched off. The valve is controlled by a temperature responsive bimetallic strip which is impinged upon by flue gases to move the valve to an open position upon the furnace being ignited and producing combustion gases.
