  • Publication number: 20220377261
Abstract: Thermal imaging odometry and navigation systems and related techniques are provided to improve the operational flexibility of autonomous/unmanned vehicles. A thermal imaging odometry system includes a thermal imaging module configured to be coupled to an unmanned vehicle, a ranging sensor system fixed to the thermal imaging module, and a logic device. The thermal imaging module provides thermal imagery of a scene in view of the unmanned vehicle and centered about an optical axis of the thermal imaging module, where the optical axis is fixed relative to an orientation of the unmanned vehicle. The ranging sensor system provides ranging sensor data indicating a standoff distance between the thermal imaging module and a surface intersecting the optical axis of the thermal imaging module. The logic device receives thermal images of the scene and corresponding ranging sensor data and determines an estimated relative velocity of the unmanned vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4468973
Abstract: A gas sampling device whose operation is activated by the blast whose gas to be sampled. This blast activates a switch which in turn starts the operation of a control box which thereafter sequentially outputs pneumatic signals at preset time intervals. These signals are received by a sampling unit assembly which functions in response thereto to receive and retain a gas sample from the blast.

  • Patent number: 4341220
Abstract: X-ray detectable fiducial markers are associated with a stereotactic surgery frame. The frame is fixed with respect to a patient's anatomy and defines a predetermined three-dimensional coordinate system in which surgical devices may be precisely positioned. A desired target area of the anatomy is detected in a cross-sectional CT scanner depiction of the combined stereotactic frame and patient anatomy. The target's coordinates with respect to the frame are calculated based on three non-collinear fiducial points also located within the cross-section and having known coordinates both with respect to the frame and with respect to the target. In the exemplary embodiment, detachable fiducial point-defining members are associated with a stereotactic surgical frame. For example, each member may be a plate having a series of parallel grooves or slots which progressively increase in length from one slot to the next. The frame coordinates of the end points of each slot are predetermined and known.

  • Patent number: 4041468
Abstract: An ambulatory electrocardiographic tape recording (DCG) taken over an extended period of time, such as 24 hours, is analyzed with substantial accuracy by randomly selecting a sample of time periods of a specific duration (such as a 2% sample) and printing out a hard copy record of the electrocardiogram at these times for visual analysis. The simplicity of this method and the system performing it combined with high accuracy in quantifying cardiac arrhythmias makes it perferable for most clinical purposes to conventional methods of analyzing DCG's.
