  • Publication number: 20130118987
Abstract: This invention relates to an anti-scale water treatment system, composition and related methods. The system suppresses hard scale formation by releasing small amounts of transforming agent into water.

  • Patent number: 8002990
Abstract: A filter for removing soluble, colloidal, and insoluble particles from a fluid, including lead using a first filter media for filtering soluble material from the fluid, a second filter media, adjacent and in fluid communication with, the first filter media, for filtering soluble material from said fluid, wherein the first and second filter media create a physical non-soluble particle barrier at their interface for capturing non-soluble particles, that when retained at the interface, become soluble over time in the fluid, and are subsequently removed by the second filter media. At least one of the filter media can be fibrillated nanofibers that are loaded with finely subdivided media of powdered ion exchange resins. A third filter media may be placed between the first and second filter media to enhance capturing and dissolving the physical non-soluble particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2008
Date of Patent: August 23, 2011
    Assignee: KX Technologies, LLC

  • Publication number: 20100307968
Abstract: An activated carbon filter with reduced leachable arsenic comprising activated carbon, a binder material for binding activated carbon into a filtration mesh and an arsenic adsorbent in a concentration of less than about 5% for reducing leachable arsenic inherent in the activated carbon.

  • Patent number: 7472741
Abstract: A slot impingement cooler is formed of a plurality of sets of foils in a stacked and registered array. In each set of foils, a first foil has supply slots that direct a flow of coolant, a second foil has a plurality of effective light-trap cavities, a third foil has return slots that return the flow of coolant, and an optional fourth foil has a plurality of effective light-trap cavities. The foils have registered supply manifold openings and registered return manifold openings therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5847927
Abstract: An electronic substrate is formed of a porous planar heat exchanger and an orifice plate overlying and thermally contacting the heat exchanger. The orifice plate has a plurality of apertures therethrough. An electronic device is mounted to the orifice plate. A coolant such as air or other gas is forced through the heat exchanger and the apertures of the orifice plate to remove heat that is generated by the electronic device. Preferably, at least two of the assemblies formed of the substrate and the mounted electronic device are mounted in a facing relationship to form a multichip module. A housing is provided to support the assemblies and to channel the flow of coolant through the substrates. Electrical interconnection between the components is provided by a peripheral ring with electrically conducting paths therethrough, which ring extends between the facing substrates.

  • Patent number: 4405190
Abstract: A circuit interchange for interconnecting towing and towed components of an articulated land vehicle, including a socket having an array of male and female connector elements so positioned and interconnected that by proper orientation of a trailer plug in the socket the trailer lights can be properly coordinated with the towing vehicle lights regardless of the wiring systems to the plug and socket. The interchange may be modular or in jumper form, or may be in part permanently substituted for the socket of the towing vehicle.
