    Abstract: A method for improving the growth response in poultry comprising administering to said poultry a growth-promoting amount of at least one pyridine-2-thione-N-oxide compound selected from the group consisting of(a) a metallic salt of pyridine-2-thione-N-oxide;(b) 2,2'-dithiobispyridine-1,1'-dioxide; and(c) adducts of 2,2'-dithiobispyridine-1,1'-dioxide, the adducts having the formula(C.sub.5 H.sub.4 NOS).sub.2 MY.sub.twherein M is an alkaline earth metal selected from the group consisting of calcium, magnesium, barium and strontium, Y is an anion selected from the group consisting of halides, sulfates, nitrates, chlorates and acetates, and t is either 1 or 2.
