Abstract: A liquid filter arrangement including an internally received treatment agent storage and release cartridge is provided. The assembly is configured for diffusion of the treatment agent from the treatment agent storage and release cartridge, into liquid flowing through the filter arrangement. A particular arrangement shown is configured which provides for a dynamic type of liquid flow providing a current directed through the treatment agent storage and release cartridge. In the preferred arrangements, an initial static type of flow followed by later dynamic flow, is provided. Alternatives, methods of assembly and descriptions of use are provided.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the differential pressure of fluid in filter. The apparatus comprises a housing defining a pressure chamber. A differential pressure gauge divides the pressure chamber into first and second fluid chambers. The differential pressure gauge is arranged to measure a differential pressure between fluid in the first chamber and fluid in the second chamber. The differential pressure gauge has a variable output.

Abstract: Liquid filter arrangements are provided. In general, the liquid filter arrangements comprise a housing, a primary filter element, a secondary filter construction and a bypass valve arrangement. The components are arranged such that in normal operation, liquid flows through the primary filter element and then through the secondary filter construction; and, such that during bypass valve operation, flow circumvents the primary filter element and is directed through the secondary filter construction, before leaving the liquid filter arrangement. Both a disposable spin on embodiment and a serviceable cartridge embodiment are provided.
