  • Publication number: 20070017051
Abstract: To alleviate ice freeze-up of vehicle windows which incorporate spaced upper and lower seals which engage an outside surface of the vehicle window, a tool is provided with a handle and a blade extending from the handle and the blade has a bend and a distal end which is curved outwardly in the plane of the blade. The length of the blade segment between the bend and its distal end is selected to be slightly longer than the distance between the upper and lower seals whereby this blade segment may be inserted between the window outside surface and the upper and lower seals and then slid along the window to sever any ice seal existing between the outside window surface and the upper and lower seals to free up the frozen vehicle window for normal operation.

  • Publication number: 20060154829
Abstract: In one embodiment, a composition of a treatment fluid used to stabilize shale and clay within a hydrocarbon producing formation is provided which includes water, and potassium formate at a concentration to maintain the treatment fluid with a Zeta potential of about ?15 mV or less. In one example, the concentration is within a range from about 1% to about 10% by weight of the treatment fluid and in another example, the concentration is within a range from about 2% to about 6%. The composition may further contain a viscosifying amount of a polygalactomannan compound, such as a guar compound. In one example, the guar compound contains a carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar compound or derivatives thereof. The composition may have a Zeta potential of about ?18 mV or less, such as about ?33 mV or less. The composition may further contain calcium carbonate.

  • Publication number: 20060038158
Abstract: Carboxylate salts of amines are used as components of heat exchange fluids. The amines may have a ratio of N to C of 1:0 to 1:12 and the carboxylate anion may be derived from an acid of the formula H(CH2)0-3COOH. A preferred monoamine heat exchange fluid utilizes triethanolamine formate. Lower carboxylate salts of diamines and triamines having the formula R2[N[(CH2)mNR]1-2]R where each R is independently selected from moieties of the formula —CnH2n+1 and moieties of the formula H[O(CH2)1-4]—, each m is independently a number from 1 to 6, and each n is a number from 1 to 4, are disclosed as compounds.

  • Patent number: 4631009
Abstract: A lubrication scavenge system for an engine bearing compartment or the like utilizing a gear pump with two or more independent inlets with separate flow paths through the pump. The inlets and flow paths are maintained separate from each other by the use of inlet and discharge seal arcs to avoid any fluid communication therebetween. The pump can operate to pump different fluids through each inlet with the fluid being either a gas or liquid or a mixture of both and with the pump continuing its pumping action when there is an instantaneous interchange in the fluid being pumped at each inlet as can occur when the engine bearing compartment is subjected to varying positive and negative gravity forces.
