  • Publication number: 20190060788
Abstract: A wedge shaped filter element for use with a variety of fluids and fluid mixtures is disclosed. Greater in filtration efficiency is provided due to increased filter media and compact arrangement that can be provided with a plurality of filter elements in filter housing. The wedge shaped filter elements can be used for filtration, coalescing fluids and separation of gas from liquid.

  • Publication number: 20190001243
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for self-cleaning filters without having to open the filter housing. Wash nozzles are integrated with the filter housings such that when the filters are clogged, both back-wash and regular washing can be performed with practically no down time. Moreover, without opening the filter housing, the hazardous components of the fluid to be filtered can be contained and dealt with before they escape the filter housing, thereby significantly reduces the environmental impact and harm to the working crew.

  • Patent number: 10131439
Abstract: An aircraft is provided and includes a fixed frame including a ledge and a seat pan on which seating elements for seating an aircraft crewperson are disposable. The seat pan includes a hinge about which the seat pan is pivotable relative to the fixed frame and a flange disposable on the ledge to establish a first pivot position for the seat pan relative to the fixed frame and a seat pan lifter coupled to the fixed frame and selectively interposable between the flange and the ledge to establish a second pivot position for the seat pan relative to the fixed frame.

  • Patent number: 10131438
Abstract: An aircrew member must be properly positioned during flight to have a view inside and outside of the cockpit and to reach all aircraft controls. However, if an ejection event occurs, the aircrew member should be properly aligned with a thrust direction of the ejection seat to prevent injury. A retracting backrest for an ejection seat is deployed pre-flight to a desired flight position. A release mechanism engages a positioning member to secure the retracting backrest in the flight position. In response to an eject signal, the release mechanism disengages from the positioning member, and both the aircrew member and the retracting backrest are hauled back to properly align the aircrew member for ejection.

  • Patent number: 9809315
Abstract: An aircraft ejection system is provided. The aircraft ejection system may comprise a seat, a bridle coupled to the seat, suspension lines coupled to the bridle, and a drogue canopy coupled to the suspension lines. A first side of the drogue canopy may have a lower drag than a second side of the drogue canopy. The first side may comprise a mesh portion and/or an opening to reduce drag. The first side may further include a low-resistance structure with a circular or rectangular geometry. The bridle and the suspension lines may be configured to direct the first side in a predetermined direction, such as downward.

  • Publication number: 20170312660
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for treating and removing particulate matter from fluid or treating and removing fluid from a recoverable particulate matter from fluid circulating into, through and out of an industrial operation, and for washing a disposable cartridge filter used therein. The influent fluid is maintained at a flow rate such that the differential pressure across the cartridge filter is no greater than 10 psi to prevent the buildup of non-porous filter cake. A pressure detecting mechanism and method is also provided to detect the amount of deposited particulate matter inside the cartridge filter, so that an operator can determine whether the cartridge filter should be taken out to remove or recycle the deposited particulate matter.

  • Publication number: 20170297725
Abstract: A system for selecting an ejection mode on an aircraft may include an egress actuator, a ballistic signal system operatively connected to the egress actuator, and a processor operatively connected to the ballistic signal system and the egress actuator. The processor may be configured to receive, from an aircraft controller, a flight characteristic, and select, based on the flight characteristic, an ejection mode from two ejection modes. The processor may be further configured to receive a pilot egress command from the ballistic signal system, and transmit, to the egress actuator, a signal to actuate the ejection mode from the two ejection modes.
