    Abstract: System and methods for processing state-based network packets are described herein. Processing of network protocol packets can include classifying events associated with the network protocol packet based on a current, internal protocol state and event type. The techniques may map these events to actions. For instance, the techniques may map these incoming events to specific indices within a TCAM. The indices may be used to lookup “actions” encoded within an SRAM. The system may utilize these actions to generate one or more outgoing messages as well as determine possible “next” state transitions. Accordingly, by utilizing contents of a TCAM and SRAM, the techniques may facilitate dynamic and flexible programmability of processing network protocol packets.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus which is dedicated to the parsing of variable length tokens, a multitude of which may be present within individual networking packets in a split-level fashion are described. The techniques may utilize parallel circuits to (1) parse out the “high-level” header information to determine a type of token as well as distinct byte boundaries of individual tokens within the networking packet; and (2) parse and process the data present within each extracted token's boundaries. Such split-level, parallel parsing is beneficial to manage design complexity, enable better performance and testability of devices and systems.

    Abstract: An RFID print system includes an RFID printer and reader, a host computer that transmits a data stream containing instructions or commands to the RFID printer for encoding an RFID tag, and a data manager that receives EPC data or other data from the encoded tag. The data manager transmits the data to the host computer, which can then compare what was encoded to what was intended to be encoded. The host computer can then transmit signals to other devices in the system for appropriate action, such as when the encoded tag is defective.
