  • Publication number: 20130121926
Abstract: The present invention relates to sulfonated optical dye compositions, especially dyes suitable for biological applications in vitro, and for in vivo imaging. Improved dye compositions and intermediates are provided, which enable the suppression of undesirable newly-identified impurities. Also provided is the use of the improved dye compositions in the preparation of conjugates with biological targeting molecules.

  • Publication number: 20090155167
Abstract: The present invention provides an automated method for the preparation of 99mTc radiopharmaceutical compositions, together with disposable cassettes for use in the method. The use of an automated synthesizer apparatus in the preparation of 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals is also described. Also described is the use of kits for the preparation of 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals in the method and disposable cassettes of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5718884
Abstract: The present invention pertains to proteinaceous gas- or gas precursor-containing microbubble contrast agents for use in ultrasound and/or MR imaging, in which the protein matrix is crosslinked by reaction with a bifunctional aldehyde (e.g., a dialdehyde such as glutaraldehyde or an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated aldehyde such as acrolein) in an aqueous medium at substantially neutral pH. The contrast agents exhibit improved in vivo and storage stabilities, particularly if the matrix is also reacted with a Schiff's base reducing agent such as a borohydride. Modification of the size distribution of such crosslinked proteinaceous gas-containing contrast agents, e.g. to reduce the mean size of the microbubbles, further enhances their stability and permits preparation of novel contrast agents having a particularly narrow microbubble size distribution.
