The modular clip includes a housing configured to receive a plurality of battery cells. The housing includes a base portion and a first and second wall extending from the base portion of the housing along a length of the housing, wherein the plurality of battery cells are received between the first wall and the second wall. The first and/or second wall forms a cooling path along the length of the housing, e.g., a gap maintained between the plurality of cells and the first/second wall. The battery module may include a regulator and duct to direct/control air flow to the cooling path in each of the modular clips comprised in a battery module.

  • Patent number: 9948044
Abstract: Systems and methods for electrical connections between electrical components or flow paths are described. Systems can include a pin having a proximal end and a distal end, a proximal groove disposed between and spaced vertically from the proximal end and the distal end, and a distal groove disposed between and spaced vertically from the proximal groove and the distal end. A proximal garter spring can be disposed around the pin at least partially within the proximal groove, and a distal garter spring can be disposed around the pin at least partially within the distal groove. The proximal garter spring and distal garter spring can be configured to compress in order to mechanically and electrically couple a first electrical flow path and a second electrical flow path.

  • Publication number: 20180097322
Abstract: Systems and methods for forming flexible electrical connections are disclosed. Systems can include a flexible bus bar having at least three rigid sections and at least two flexible sections. Each flexible section can be mechanically and conductively coupled to two of the at least three rigid sections. Each rigid section can be configured to electrically couple to an electrical component other than the bus bar. The flexible bus bar can be configured to electrically connect a plurality of batteries in a vehicle battery system. The flexible sections of the flexible bus bar can flex to accommodate thermal expansion and/or contraction of the bus bar or relative movement of other electrical components.

  • Patent number: 9904357
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a throwing apparatus that includes a projectile that slides on a rail. In one example, as the user makes a throwing action, the projectile slides along the rail and locks into place at an end of the rail. In response, the throwing apparatus launches a virtual object representing the projectile along a virtual path extending away from the throwing apparatus. The apparatus may include an emitter that transmits a signal indicative of the signal path of the virtual object. An external device receiving the signal can determine whether the device is on the path and whether it is struck by the virtual object. The apparatus may also include a speaker that outputs a sound simulating the projectile flying through free space. The speaker may change the volume of the sound depending on whether the virtual object is moving away or towards the throwing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20170288285
Abstract: Systems and methods for liquid temperature regulated energy storage in electric vehicles are disclosed. Systems can include an enclosure and a channel passing through the enclosure. The channel can include an inlet for liquid inflow and an outlet for outflow of the liquid, the outlet in fluid communication with the inlet. The channel can be defined by at least two thermally conductive plates disposed on opposite sides of the channel. The plates can be configured to be placed in to thermal contact with at least one battery. The channel can be a flow path for a liquid coolant.
