  • Patent number: 8350677
Abstract: A system includes an ordering module, an asset tagging module, a database, and a manufacturer server. The ordering module is configured to receive an order for a component from a web browser. The asset tagging module is configured to receive information for an asset tag from the web browser, and to receive a selection of a location on the component to place the asset tag. The database is configured to store the order for the component, the information for the asset tag, and the location of the asset tag on the component. The manufacturer server is configured to retrieve the order for the component, the information for the asset tag, and the location of the asset tag on the component, and to direct printing of the information on the asset tag and placement of the asset tag at the location on the component prior to placing the component in packaging for the component.

  • Publication number: 20110159490
Abstract: Eukaryotic genomes are duplicated by the activation of multiple bidirectional origins of replication. The replication programs of these cells depend on the temporal and spatial organisation of replication origins throughout the genome. To investigate the replication program in a higher eukaryote, we employed a technique called molecular combing. This technique allows for a quantitative analysis of DNA replication on a genome wide basis. As a model system, Xenopus laevis sperm chromatin were differentially labelled at successive time points after the beginning of DNA synthesis. Genomic DNA was then extracted and combed on a glass surface. Direct measurements made on the labelled DNA provided a comprehensive analysis of the spatial and temporal organisation of the X. laevis early embryo replication program and revealed that the number of replication origins activated per kilobase increases throughout the period of DNA synthesis.

  • Publication number: 20090320367
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods and apparatuses for supporting various stages of plant growth through layered soils. In embodiments, a soil adapted for supporting a first plant growth phase (e.g. germination) may be proximal, adjacent, or partially surrounded by a second soil adapted for supporting a subsequent growth phase (e.g. a vegetative phase) such that the roots of the plant encounter the second soil as the plant progresses from the first growth phase to the second growth phase. Some embodiments may provide one or more additional soil layers positioned proximal to the second soil, with the additional soil layers adapted to support additional subsequent plant growth phases. Apparatuses suitable for practicing embodiments of such methods are further provided.
