  • Publication number: 20080046858
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for merge avoidance for a user-modifiable artifact generated by an iterative software process in a computing environment. The user-modifiable artifact may be modified many times by the user and/or by a change in the generated artifact. Current and previous generated artifacts are compared with the user-modifiable artifact. A merge condition is detected and a merge artifact are generated only in response to determination that the current and previous generated artifacts differ and that the user-modifiable artifact has been modified after generation. Merge steps, which can include an automatic or manual merge operation, can be performed in response to generation of the merge artifact. This process can be described as a method of integrating changes to an artifact generated from a software process and modified outside of the software process.

  • Publication number: 20070242658
Abstract: Embodiments connect a call in which at least one party is a VoIP call party and monitoring resulting VoIP signals for unauthorized call activity, such as three-way call activity. The monitoring may include monitoring the call for suspend and/or resume events to detect the unauthorized call activity, the suspend and resume events may be generated by a telephone system and passed into a VoIP system associated with the VoIP call party. The monitoring may be carried out by an agent disposed between a VoIP gateway and the VoIP call party or by the VoIP gateway itself.

  • Publication number: 20070127672
Abstract: A telecommunication system includes telecommunication resources, points, and a connection manager. The connection manager is configured to establish connections between the telecommunications resources and the points in response to a request from an application. The connection manager uses routing tables to select the most efficient route from the available routes between a telecommunications resource and a point. The routing tables establish the connection by sending a request to allocate a telecommunications resource to a session manager.

  • Publication number: 20050265529
Abstract: A system is disclosed to establish a telephone connection between parties. In one embodiment, a system includes receives a request to validate an outbound call from a first party to a telephone number associated with a second party. The system determines whether the outbound call is permitted to the telephone number and whether a pre-established account exists to debit against call. In response to the pre-established account existing, the system switches the collect call to a prepaid platform. Alternatively, in response to the pre-established account not existing or the pre-established account having insufficient credit to debit against the call, the system places an inquiry call to the second party. In response to the inquiry call, the system creates for the second party an account to debit against the call. A method for the same is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20030105858
Abstract: A distributed application has a client software component on a client computer which communicates with server software on a server computer by way of a remote procedure call (RPC) system. The server has a persistent memory manager which keeps data available in high-speed memory and periodically backs up the data to disk or other lower-speed memory. Keeping transactions short and synchronous permits the entire database to be locked during each transaction. The system can provide responsiveness and usability approaching that of a stand-alone application.

  • Patent number: 4639962
Abstract: Apparatus for producing comb honey in a hive and for marketing thereof. Cassettes each include a boxlike base and a removable cover. The cassettes are stackable in side-by-side horizontal columns in a super. The side-by-side cassettes are constructed so that bees or structure in one cassette can influence production of comb honey in the adjacent cassette, to induce filling with honey to a uniform depth across the full width of each cassette.

  • Patent number: 4435865
Abstract: Device for making comb honey includes sections arrangeable in a super. The section combines into a single unit a number of presently used separate components, namely the section perimeter, the foundation, spacing elements, the separator, the package, and a serving dish. A comb forming section is provided with the foundation at the bottom thereof and portions cooperating with an adjacent section to effect appropriate spacing of same. In one embodiment, the foundation is backed by a suitably sloped bottom wall for cooperation with an adjacently positioned section and projecting portions at the bottom of the section engage the top of the adjacent section to effect such spacing. In another embodiment, the foundation may lie flat and projecting portions at the top of one section engage the bottom of the adjacent section to effect such spacing. A cover removably fits over the top of a section to form a closed container for marketing.

  • Patent number: 4329749
Abstract: Device for making comb honey. A novel section is provided for the making of comb honey together with a novel arrangement thereof in a super whereby the sections combine into a single unit a number of presently used separate components, namely the section perimeter, the foundation, spacers, the separator, the package, and a serving platter. Specifically, a comb forming section is provided with the foundation at the bottom thereof which foundation is backed by suitably sloped spacing portion for cooperation with an adjacently positioned section and legs also cooperating with an adjacently positioned section to effect appropriate spacing of same. The section with its foundation at the bottom of the section perimeter and legs fixed adjacent thereto may, after filling of same by the bees, then further function as a serving dish.

  • Patent number: 4133065
Abstract: Modular beehive. For a beehive assembly, there is provided a triangular module having a pair of triangular end members connected by a perforated panel, the perforations in said panel being of such size as to permit the passage therethrough of worker bees but selectively to permit or preclude corresponding passage of the queen bee as desired in a given case. The modules are arranged in alternately facing manner with said perforated panel on the downward side thereof. The alternately exposed sides of said modules are closed by removable imperforate doors. Triangularly shaped comb frames are insertable into said modules and positioned in suitably spaced relationship to each other parallel with and in substantially lateral register with said triangular side members. The comb frames are thus accessible in any modules of the hive without disturbing other modules for removal; inspection and/or replacement as desired.

  • Patent number: 4021956
Abstract: A frame has crossed arm portions and has a resilient action such that the resilient effect will bring together the net supporting arms of the frame and manual compression of the handle will spread the arms apart. Net material depends from the arms, is opened into maximum receiving position upon suitable grasping and compression of the handle and is closed into a fish retaining condition by partial relaxation of the manual compression of the handle. Means are provided if desired for limiting the maximum distance the net supporting arms can separate from each other.
