  • Patent number: 6811647
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing extra-wide veneers and using them for the production of continuous laminated wood boards by gluing and pressing them from a chain of extra-wide veneers assembled in several layers over and behind one another. The method invention consists in the fact that the veneers arriving with a producible width and grain running crosswise are brought together end to end to form a chain of veneers, stitched together at the junctions or attached with adhesive tape and the veneers thus assembled are cut to a given oversize in the direction of the grain so that the seams or junctions between the veneers are distributed irregularly across the width of laminated boards, not in line one over the other.
