  • Patent number: 12377794
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to a self-centering camera mount. The self-centering camera mount includes a camera mounting plate, first and second deflectors respectively arranged on a first side and a second side of the vehicle, first and second distance sensors mounted on the camera mounting plate to respectively a first distance between the first distance sensor and the first deflector and a second distance between the second distance sensor and the second deflector, and a processor that, when determining that the first distance and the second distance do not match each other, controls, based on the received first and second distances, a camera mounting plate actuator to slide the camera mounting plate until the first and second distances become equal to each other.

  • Publication number: 20250246001
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems and methods for virtual stereo ranging in a vehicle. A visible-light image and a thermographic image of a surrounding environment of a vehicle are respectively received from a visible-light image sensor and a thermographic image sensor. A visible-light depth map and a thermographic depth map of the surrounding environment are respectively generated based on the visible-light image and the thermographic image using a monocular ranging method. A first boundary surrounding a first object and a second boundary surrounding a second object in the surrounding environment are respectively generated in the visible-light image and the thermographic image. Based on the first and second boundaries, a stereo depth map of the surrounding environment is generated using a stereo ranging method. Driving of the vehicle is controlled based on the visible-light depth map, the thermographic depth map, and the stereo depth map.

  • Patent number: 5794149
Abstract: A handoff method and apparatus are disclosed for use in a wireless communication network in which a base station servicing a call selects a handoff candidate base station based in part on subscriber-specific information. For example, in some wireless networks, certain subscribers can only access a limited number of base stations and the subscriber-specific information identifies such access limitations. A central control processor provides the subscriber-specific information to the base station servicing the call during the course of the call. The base station is then operable to select a handoff candidate from the one or more neighbor base stations based on one or more neighbor base station signal quality measurements and subscriber-specific information.
