  • Publication number: 20180084308
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a content campaign system that improves the design and implementation of content campaigns. In particular, the content campaign system can receive television viewer information corresponding to television client devices and online activity information corresponding to client computing devices. Further, the content campaign system can identify a correspondence between the television viewer information and the online activity information for individual users and/or households. Based on the correspondence, the content campaign system can automatically generate targeting parameters for audiovisual content campaigns. For example, the content campaign system can recommend audiovisual content (e.g., a television advertisement) to provide to a target audience of users via a television broadcast based on the correlated television viewer information and online activity information of a particular user.

  • Patent number: 9887976
Abstract: Multi-factor authentication using quantum communication (“QC”) includes stages for enrollment and identification. For example, a user enrolls for multi-factor authentication that uses QC with a trusted authority. The trusted authority transmits device factor information associated with a user device (such as a hash function) and user factor information associated with the user (such as an encrypted version of a user password). The user device receives and stores the device factor information and user factor information. For multi-factor authentication that uses QC, the user device retrieves its stored device factor information and user factor information, then transmits the user factor information to the trusted authority, which also retrieves its stored device factor information.

  • Patent number: 9866379
Abstract: Quantum communication transmitters include beacon lasers that transmit a beacon optical signal in a predetermined state of polarization such as one of the states of polarization of a quantum communication basis. Changes in the beacon polarization are detected at a receiver, and a retarder is adjusted so that the states of polarization in a received quantum communication optical signal are matched to basis polarizations. The beacon and QC signals can be at different wavelengths so that the beacon does not interfere with detection and decoding of the QC optical signal.

  • Publication number: 20170372352
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating placebo-based experiments are described for online advertisements. One or more embodiments of the disclosed systems and methods utilizes an ad swapping approach to offer placebo media exposures, at no additional cost to an advertiser. One or more embodiments further provide a native experimentation platform that allows users to run tests of ad placements to measure the effectiveness of ads and view results displayed on a user interface. The disclosed systems and methods can assign viewers into a test group if shown the test ad or a control group if shown a control ad. The control ad can be provided at no cost to the advertiser for embodiments where the placebo ad belongs to an alternative advertiser. Effectiveness of third party attribution can also be evaluated. The disclosed systems and methods can define experiment parameters, including control frequency, test viewer groups, and control viewer groups.

  • Publication number: 20170370589
Abstract: A micromixer injector includes a fuel plenum to receive a supply of fuel. A plurality of premixing tubes extend through the fuel plenum. Each tube has a plurality of fuel holes formed therein to receive the supply of fuel for mixing with air in the tube. The micromixer has a tapering profile such that an overall inlet area of the plurality of premixing tubes on an upstream face of the micromixer is larger than an overall outlet area of the plurality of premixing tubes on a downstream face such that the plurality of premixing tubes are relatively spaced-apart at the upstream face and more densely packed at the downstream face. Additionally, an air inlet of each tube has a first geometrical shape and the outlet of each tube has a second geometrical shape that is different from the first geometrical shape.

  • Patent number: 9842354
Abstract: A multistage online auction for electronic advertising is described including simulation. A first stage auction occurs internally within a demand-side platform where multiple advertiser clients compete to determine whose advertisement is submitted to at least one external auction site. Within the internal auction, an advertiser client optionally simulates their participation. All bidders enter a bid and campaign targeting parameters. A simulating bidder's campaign is processed in real time just as those of real bidders. Ad placement opportunities received from an external auction site are filtered for each campaign producing a list of targetable impressions. For each targetable impression, the client placing the highest real bid has their ad and bid submitted to the second stage external auction. A simulating bidder receives a report on targetable impressions for their campaign. A targetable impression for a simulated bid that is higher than any real bid is reported as a winnable impression.

  • Publication number: 20170346913
Abstract: Various user behaviors are passively monitored and recorded when a user/viewer interacts with a network video player, e.g. a web video player, while watching an online video clip. For one embodiment, a data collection agent (DCA) is loaded to the player and/or to a web page that displays the video clip. The DCA passively collects detailed viewing and behavior information without requiring any specific input or actions on the part of the user. Indications of user preferences are inferred by user actions leading up to viewing the video, while viewing the video, and just after and still related to viewing the video. The DCA periodically sends this information to a central server where it is stored in a central database and where it is used to determine preference similarities among different users. Recorded user preference information may also be used to rate a video itself.

  • Patent number: 9819418
Abstract: Security is increased in quantum communication (QC) systems lacking a true single-photon laser source by encoding a transmitted optical signal with two or more decoy-states. A variable attenuator or amplitude modulator randomly imposes average photon values onto the optical signal based on data input and the predetermined decoy-states. By measuring and comparing photon distributions for a received QC signal, a single-photon transmittance is estimated. Fiber birefringence is compensated by applying polarization modulation. A transmitter can be configured to transmit in conjugate polarization bases whose states of polarization (SOPs) can be represented as equidistant points on a great circle on the Poincaré sphere so that the received SOPs are mapped to equidistant points on a great circle and routed to corresponding detectors.

  • Publication number: 20170314799
Abstract: An HVAC system includes an indoor unit, an outdoor unit, a thermostat, and a remote control device. The indoor unit comprises a first variable speed drive (VSD) to control a speed of HVAC rotary components within the indoor unit, and the outdoor unit comprises a second VSD to control a speed of HVAC rotary components within the outdoor unit. The thermostat in communication with the indoor unit and the outdoor unit comprises a communication interface, and a system controller in communication with the communication interface. The remote control device transmits a signal to the system controller to alter the speed of the HVAC rotary components, where the HVAC rotary components operate at a high speed mode which is above the preset speed limit of the respective HVAC rotary component to achieve an enhanced cooling mode.
